Background / History

The Azure Firmament Inner Realm is the Azure Firmament Realm’s origin land. The energy that evolves all things in the outer realm originates there, and it alone can nurture certain exceptionally precious treasures. Its exposed laws and Great Daos make it the foremost cultivation environment in the realm. 99 110

Originally, access to the Inner Realm was tightly restricted: it opened once every thousand years, visitors could remain for only ten years, and entry required an Inner Realm mark. As the great era approached, its entry threshold was lowered to admit more promising cultivators, while its openings were changed to once every three thousand years for up to one hundred years at a time. 99 121

The realm later entered a severe decline. Su Yang discovered that its World Passage had withered and could no longer absorb sufficient Origin power, indicating that the realm would either diminish in grade or be destroyed. Its Heaven and Earth Will initiated the great era as a final attempt to nurture cultivators capable of saving it. 234

As its Origin weakened, the Azure Firmament Realm became a target for Outer Gods. Its Heaven and Earth Will eventually removed the Heavenly Punishment previously imposed on departing Great Emperors and True Immortals, apparently encouraging powerful inhabitants to leave and reduce the realm’s burden. 335 344

During the crisis, the realm’s instinct resonated with Su Yang as its Child of Destiny and willingly handed over most of its World Origin. Su Yang refined this Origin, rose to the Super Grade True Immortal realm, repelled the attacking Outer Gods, and returned enough power to begin the realm’s revival. 348 349

After becoming a Yuan Immortal, Su Yang replaced the realm’s original World Dao with his own and became its bearer. He later refined away its former Heaven and Earth Will, planting the seed of a replacement will intended to remain close to him. 376 377
