The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf was a must-test question in Bo City Magic Theory, a key topic repeatedly emphasized in Demon Beast class. It hadn't appeared on the exam in the past two years, so it was bound to show up this year.
Savage, greedy, bloodthirsty—those were all traits of this terrifying Demon Beast. Most frightening of all, humans ranked first on the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf's menu.
"Damn!"
The moment Xu Fang realized there was a One-Eyed Demonic Wolf nearby, he knew they were in serious trouble.
Though both were Servant-level Demons, the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf was in a completely different league from the Giant-Eyed Stinky Rat. It usually took a Level 3 Beginner Mage leading a team, along with three or four Level 2 Beginner Mages, to bring one down.
"Radiance!"
A Star Ring appeared, and Light Element magic energy compressed into a sphere. Xu Fang hurled it high into the air, where it shone brightly enough to be seen from far away.
"Your aim was way off!" one of the young men said.
"Shut up!"
Xu Fang's expression was grim. "If you don't want to die, do exactly as I say. Drop your phones, split up, and run. Don't look back!"
His expression sent a chill through the people who had only just begun to relax.
Was this Mage no match for that wolf?
"Drive!"
Xu Fang jumped onto the back of a scooter. The young woman in front hurriedly twisted the throttle and started it up.
"Quit leaning into the turn and drive properly!"
Xu Fang slapped the back of her helmet, then looked behind them. In the pale moonlight, he saw a writhing black shadow charging their way.
It was a creature with powerful hind legs. Though it ran on all fours, it stood a terrifying three meters tall!
But the most hair-raising thing about it was its eye.
The enormous wolf's head had only one eye. In the bleak night, it looked like a vengeful ghost come to claim their lives!
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf!
The young men screamed in terror. They hadn't expected their companion to be such an unsatisfying meal.
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf picked its target and lunged straight at a scooter. It dragged off the young woman on the back, who'd been busy composing a post for her social media, and swallowed her after a few crunches.
The others went mad with fear!
One young man even wet himself on the spot. His body went limp, and the scooter lost its balance, spinning off like a giant top.
The young man, his face covered in blood, struggled to crawl away. "Help! Help..."
A bloodthirsty glint flashed in the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf's eye as it opened its gaping jaws.
"Fire Spark!"
A wall of flame sprang up between the man and the wolf. The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf's muzzle was scorched by the blaze, and it howled in pain.
Its furious gaze turned toward the source of the flames.
Across the moonlit road, Xu Fang faced off against the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf!

"Was that Radiance?"
Beneath the pitch-black sky, a Radiance stood out, trailing a long, brilliant tail across the heavens.
But to the Hunter Mages and Military Mages, that Radiance meant only one thing—
"Quick! Someone's calling for help. They're under attack by a Demon Beast!"
"It has to be a One-Eyed Demonic Wolf! One showed up this close to the city, so what are the Military Mages even doing?"

He'd used a Crimson Fire Light Array on the Giant-Eyed Stinky Rat earlier. It had successfully strengthened his Star Seeds, but the magic energy he'd spent hadn't been restored.
Then he'd cast Fire Spark to save the young man, leaving him dangerously low on magic energy.
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf seemed to realize this, too. It sped up on all fours, closing the distance to ten meters.
"The scooter's almost out of gas!"
The young woman wept as she drove. She swore that if she made it home alive, she'd listen to her parents, find an honest job, and quit messing around.
"Hold on to the handlebars!" Xu Fang said.
"What are you going to do?" The young woman had a bad feeling.
Xu Fang grinned, his smile wild. "Take a gamble!"
"Radiance!"
Golden light enveloped the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf, drawing magic energy from within its body.
But unlike the Giant-Eyed Stinky Rat, the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf didn't slow down. A cruel delight in its eye, it charged at Xu Fang at full speed.
Once a Mage cast a spell, there was an opening of at least three seconds!
At ten meters, it wouldn't even take one second, let alone three!
That was the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf's experience talking. Its intelligence wasn't high, but after killing so many people, it had learned a thing or two.
"Aw-ooh!"
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf came barreling toward him like a speeding car. An ordinary person would have frozen in place.
Xu Fang didn't.
His will locked onto a mark in his Spiritual World. In an instant, a dim light hovered before him, sketching out a round shield at a speed too fast for the eye to follow.
"Sand Shield!"
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf, used to slaughtering poor Mages, never expected a shield Magic Tool to appear. It tried to stop, but it was charging too fast to brake.
BANG!!!
The wolf's head slammed into the shield. The Sand Shield shuddered violently, then shattered into fragments of light and vanished into the air.
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf was hurled backward more than ten meters and crashed hard to the ground.
The scooter skimmed the ground, and the young woman screamed, feeling as though her arms no longer belonged to her.
A wave of pain throbbed through Xu Fang's chest. The Sand Shield, worth six hundred thousand, had absorbed most of the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf's impact, but the remaining force was still immense.
Xu Fang could take it. If Mu Bai, that Green Tea Man, had been here instead, he'd have passed out from that hit.
"Crimson Fire Light Array!"
He held nothing back. All the magic energy he had left poured out as his Star Seeds and Star Ring shone together.
From using Radiance as a feint to reflecting the impact with the Sand Shield and leaving the wolf stunned, everything had been for this moment!
"Die, you bastard!"
Crimson-gold light engulfed the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf, and flames scorched its soul. The wolf let out one agonized scream after another.
The scooter had long since fallen over. The young woman, battered physically and mentally, had passed out. Completely out of magic energy, Xu Fang panted heavily, his eyes fixed on the array.
The light slowly faded.
A broken figure lay there.
A second later, it struggled to its feet.
The One-Eyed Demonic Wolf wasn't dead!
The incomplete Crimson Fire Light Array hadn't been enough to take the beast's life.
"Aw-ooh!!!" With its crimson eye burning with hatred and malice, the One-Eyed Demonic Wolf limped slowly toward him.
It would tear the cunning human apart with its teeth and eat him piece by piece!
