Wang Xian said nothing, but made a move neither woman could have expected.
He paid no mind to Ku Chan, who looked like a demon from the depths of hell. Instead, dragging his spirit sword Like Wind behind him, he slowly began circling Ji Yaoguang and Ye Honglian.
The sword tip scraped across the Black Tower's floor, trailing sparks that stood out starkly in the dim interior.
After making three circuits, he stopped and let out a "tsk, tsk" sigh.
He first shook his head toward Ji Yaoguang. Though his eyes were wrapped in black cloth, both women felt as if Wang Xian could see them.
He said to Ji Yaoguang, "You were right there with me. How did we get separated?"
His voice held a hint of confusion, along with a trace of concern he could barely hide. "Could there be ghosts in this tower?"
Then he turned toward Ye Honglian's position and frowned slightly, the black cloth over his eyes creasing into fine lines.
He murmured, "You crazy woman, weren't you dead set on killing me? How did you end up in such a sorry state?"
In his eyes, it was a miracle that Ye Honglian had survived.
What he hadn't expected was that this wizened old demon had actually bitten a chunk from Ye Honglian's shoulder and chewed it with relish right in front of him, blood still clinging to the corner of his mouth.
Sure enough, all three of them were mad.
