After a brief genjutsu duel, Kurama Murakumo saw Tōka's talent for genjutsu. It was even greater than Yakumo's, despite her having awakened the Kekkei Genkai.

None of that was the point. The point was that Tōka did not possess the Sharingan and was not a member of the Uchiha Clan.

This gave Kurama Murakumo, who had always been suppressed by the Uchiha Clan in genjutsu, hope.

"Tōka, would you be interested in becoming my disciple?" Kurama Murakumo looked at Tōka with an expectant expression. Tōka was not a member of the Kurama Clan, but if he became Murakumo's disciple...

If he defeated members of the Uchiha Clan in genjutsu in the future, wouldn't that mean the Uchiha Clan's genjutsu was inferior to the Kurama Clan's?

Yakumo was a good child. She was highly talented and hardworking, but her body was simply too frail. That could not be blamed on Yakumo; everyone in the Kurama Clan had poor constitutions.

Thus, after witnessing Tōka's genjutsu prowess, Kurama Murakumo developed the thought of taking him as a disciple.

However, if the target was Tōka, Kurama Murakumo was destined to be disappointed.

"Uh..." Tōka paused slightly, wondering how to refuse. "Thank you for your kindness, Clan Head Kurama, but I think Yakumo has good talent."

Tōka was quick-witted and could more or less see through Kurama Murakumo's intentions.

He merely wanted to establish some connection with him. Becoming a disciple was out of the question, though taking in an adorable little girl as a disciple might be worth considering.

"Yakumo..." Kurama Murakumo frowned slightly. After hesitating for a moment, he said in a deep voice, "Come inside. Let's talk."

He neither refused nor agreed, nor did he even state his position.

Kurama Murakumo turned and walked into the house. Tōka shrugged indifferently and followed.
