Background

Qing Lin was raised within the Desert Iron Mercenary Group, where she worked as a maidservant. Her mixed human and Snake People heritage subjected her to disgust and discrimination from mercenaries, despite the group having given her shelter when she had nowhere else to go. She nevertheless retained gratitude toward the group and refused Xiao Ling's offer to punish its members on her behalf. 34

Xiao Ling recognized both her unusual Snake People aura and the potential hidden within her bloodline. He invited her to become his “little sister,” promised that no one at his side would bully her, and took her away from the mercenary group. 34 Qing Lin later joined Xiao Ling and Zi Yan, growing increasingly trusting and open with them. 35 36
