Yamanaka Tohru teleported above Shukaku's head and thrust Chidori Spear through the ice, piercing Bunpuku's shoulder. Gaara hadn't been born yet, so Bunpuku couldn't die for now.
The pain and numbness in his shoulder woke Bunpuku from False Sleep Technique, and Shukaku disappeared with it.
After dealing with Shukaku, Yamanaka Tohru swallowed a Ration Pill and rejoined the ordinary shinobi in battle.
