This was also one of the preventive measures.
Deleting as many memories about the Warp as possible from their brains could also effectively prevent them from falling again.
Just as Alvin thought the "plot" had temporarily returned to the right track, Carter brought him bad news and good news.
"The bad news is, I just received intelligence..." Carter's expression was grave, with a trace of anger between her brows. "Someone broke Chester Phillips out of Pelican Bay Prison. His whereabouts are currently unknown."
"Who do you think did it?"
Alvin asked meaningfully.
Carter fell silent for several seconds before saying bitterly, "The military... Since the end of World War II and the establishment of the military-industrial complex, their power has grown by the day. Their reach has even extended to members of Congress. Other than them, no one could break someone out of Pelican Bay Prison and keep it hidden for this long."
"Heh."
Alvin gave a cold laugh in response.
"I'll handle this." Carter took a deep breath and assured him, "I'll report directly to the President, halt all their operations, and continue Chester Phillips's trial."
"What's the good news?"
Alvin directly skipped over the subject.
"The good news is that we found Mar-Vell's trail." At the mention of this, Carter's expression finally improved somewhat. "We entered her information into the surveillance system and the nationwide travel system, and found a highly suspicious travel record. Local agents confirmed that it was Wendy Lawson—Mar-Vell."
"You mean she neither changed her appearance nor disguised herself?" Alvin raised an eyebrow.
"Yes." Carter also looked puzzled. "That's what confuses us.
