Background / History

Mei Chu cultivated and observed the world's long cycles for thousands of years, seeking a path beyond ordinary limits. The emergence of the Spirit Bone gave them hope, but its failure to seal the Six Paths left it useless and transformed Mei Chu into Hua Yin's body. Unable to wait any longer, Mei Chu chose to investigate Jia Meng, believing Jia Meng's actions and collection of world remnants held the answers they sought. 86

While residing with Hua Yin, Mei Chu encouraged and comforted her insecurity about weak spiritual power and her desire to attend school. Mei Chu later accompanied Hua Yin into the cultivation world, guided her training, and helped her improve her use of her Cursed physique and Soul Force. 86 88 92

Mei Chu gradually identified the Ghost King's seals and deduced that Jia Meng intended to use Soul Force and seals in a long-term plan involving the “guest.” Rejecting a stable world governed by Jia Meng's seal system, Mei Chu resolved to accelerate their own plans and seek freedom through the ultimate sublimation of Soul Force. 93 94

After taking over Hua Yin, Mei Chu gathered special-grade cursed spirits and warned them that even their combined strength would not defeat Jia Meng. The group agreed to cooperate under Mei Chu's plan against Jia Meng's growing influence. 98

Personality

Mei Chu is patient, calculating, and intensely ambitious. Their long life has made them dismissive of ordinary eras and unwilling to accept a peaceful, predictable world; they instead pursue unrestricted Soul Force and chaos beyond anyone's control. 86 94

Despite this ambition, Mei Chu shows genuine concern for Hua Yin. They repeatedly reassure her, guide her cultivation, and judge that she has grown strong enough to no longer be a burden. 86 92

Mei Chu is also an opportunist who studies enemies before acting. Rather than directly overpowering Xia Bu, they exploit the rules of Xia Bu's puppet refinement from within, turning an attempted act of control into a means of seizing Xia Bu's Soul Force. 109
