Shalti had bound herself firmly before the exit with [Snare], but her eyes still held the dream that had followed her drowning.
She still remembered the moment Lin Hal had tried to control chaos:
"According to my research, a Wild Warlock's Magic Web is extremely irregular compared with an ordinary spellcaster's. If a normal spellcaster's Magic Web is a mesh made up of countless hexagons, its energies interconnected and supporting one another, with neither a fraction too much nor a fraction too little.
"Then a Wild Warlock's Magic Web lacks that firm stability-it changes at every moment. What was a stable triangle one second might twist into a circle the next, or even a ripple...
"Normally, changes in the Magic Web would cause instantaneous changes in the elements that form matter, just as there are always subtle differences between the Magic Webs of humans and beastfolk.
"Yet precisely because it changes constantly, it instead forms an extremely unstable structure that can just barely function."
"I don't understand." Her answer back then had been blunt.
Merlin could only explain in plainer language:
"In other words, as long as you destroy the original structure of the Magic Web, it may be possible to become a warlock through the Tide of Chaos in the Wasteland-and conversely, as long as you stabilize the changing Magic Web into the most stable mesh structure, a Wild Warlock may be able to become an ordinary spellcaster again."
"Can you do it?"
"I'm experimenting with Teleportation Magic. Teleportation Magic and Conjuration Magic are the two types closest to the structure of the Magic Web-their essence requires opening two wormholes in the world's Magic Web, allowing us to jump from one plane to another.
"The experiments are progressing well. Didn't I randomly summon a few cyclopes a few days
