"Hello, Luan. Are our people and things all here?"
Consul Robert's first words were to confirm whether the objectives of his mission had arrived safely.
Not a single person or item could be missing.
"They're all here. We gave them the best accommodations available. I hope you're satisfied, Consul."
Luan Zhengwei's words carried an unspoken meaning, but he wasn't worried that the other man wouldn't understand.
Both sides were intelligent people. Some things only needed to be hinted at to be understood; there was no need to play too many tricks.
"The American people will be extremely grateful for the assistance you've provided."
Consul Krus smiled faintly, reaching an understanding with Luan Zhengwei.
He was led to the meeting room in the Command center, where Professor Lance and Elisa were already waiting. The two of them appeared to be in fairly good condition, though their spirits were somewhat listless. IV drips hung from both their wrists, containing glucose along with vitamin C and amino acids. The effect was equivalent to HP +1, +1, +1, +1...
It wasn't immediately effective, but it was better than nothing.
Professor Lance had suffered a mild concussion and a fracture in his right arm. The fracture had already been treated and put in a cast, which was suspended from his neck with a brace and bandages. He was taking painkillers and sedatives. Aside from occasional dizziness, he was basically fine.
The blonde woman Elisa was merely weak. Although she had wolfed down a meal of military rations and barely replenished a small amount of the energy she had expended, she finally no longer needed anyone to support her and could take a couple of steps on her own. However, what she had actually consumed wasn't merely fat and blood sugar, but primarily ATP (Adenosine
