Expulsion
A dozen specially bred bullet ants were released. They kept twitching their antennae and crawling aimlessly across the ground like headless flies.
However, they quickly found their target, surrounding the upper half of the insect that had survived and launching probing attacks without hesitation.
Just minutes earlier, the grotesque insect with constantly opening and closing mouthparts had only its upper half left. Now it had become whole again, complete with head and tail. There was no sign that it had ever been cut in half by a sword.
The insect really wasn't picky about food. It could even gnaw on wood with relish. Without natural predators or some other limitation, it might well run rampant.
Only a treasure trove of life like the Amazon rainforest could give birth to such bizarre insects.
Using firearms alone to deal with these insects in the marshes was clearly unreliable. Not only did the mercenaries know that, even the Wizards from Huaxia thought the cost-effectiveness would be frighteningly low.
How many insects could one bullet kill?
Even if they switched to grenades, they could kill at most a few hundred.
But there were tens of thousands of insects in the water. How many bullets and grenades would they need?
At the very least, they would need several high-explosive shells of 152 millimeters or larger. Perhaps then they could level this wetland.
But if they had that kind of firepower, why would they need to venture into the Amazon rainforest?!
They could simply bombard the area from a great distance with extended-range shells. There would be no need to worry about how much resistance remained inside Academy Under Heaven's lair.
Moreover, whether it was the cost of sending several Institute 507 action groups deep into the Amazon rainforest or the cost of deploying mercenaries
