An Uninvited Guest
Enmenam, the prehistoric hero, thought for a moment, then asked, "You came for the Armored Nightmare?"
The Saint's Association had called and called, sent emails and video attachments, and kept hinting that the situation was urgent. But Li Bai had stubbornly stayed in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, refusing to come. Was he even still a member of the Saint's Association?
He had no sense of discipline or loyalty. They ought to kick him out... Though, of course, that was impossible.
They'd worked so hard to bring him in, and now they were going to kick him out? What a stupid idea!
But now he'd suddenly shown up at the Fox Den command center, on the edge of the Tar Desert. The reason was obvious. There could only be one.
"That's right! I'm here to bail you out!"
Li Bai made no attempt to hide his purpose. There was no point in lying.
Diana, the young Taoist from Longhu Mountain, and the others had only one task as they infiltrated the camp with him: keep a close eye on the Saint's Association, to make sure that before they could deal with the Ghoul Curse, the Armored Nightmare—a man-eating beast—didn't run amok and make an already dire situation completely unmanageable.
"Looks like great minds think alike."
Enmenam pointed at Li Bai, then at himself, and laughed heartily, feeling greatly relieved.
The Saint's Association wouldn't heed his warnings, but at least there were still clearheaded people around, people who could help. He'd been a little worried, but when he saw Li Bai, the weight on his heart finally lifted.
"What's new today?"
Li Bai had been traveling all day and hadn't had a chance to watch the new video the Saint of "Strength" had sent him.
