Although it was not winter yet in the Helan Mountain area after autumn, the temperature became bitterly cold after nightfall, and some areas even saw frost.

In the latter half of the night, Li Bai was awakened by the two police officers on night watch. The moment they lifted the door flap, a bone-chilling gust rushed in, instantly dispelling what little sleepiness remained.

The several tents were not set up on the exposed platform, but twenty or thirty meters inside the cave entrance. Although the deeper parts were sheltered by the mountain and were not as cold, they feared that some other bizarre thing might emerge from inside the cave.
