Several dark-green streaks suddenly burst through the thick fog. Claws like iron and steel ripped open a narrow gap in space, and a figure flitted into view, elusive as a wisp of green smoke. The newcomer's voice was sinister and shrill, slipping through every gap in the mountain mist like a fish through water, making it impossible to pin down his position. Shen Tang lightly tapped her toes against the stirrups and soared into the air, swinging her sword behind her. Its gleam flashed like a bolt of white silk as it struck its target.

The instant Shen Tang stepped onto the air above the long bridge, it felt as though a thousand-pound burden had settled on her shoulders. Her hands and feet seemed mired in mud; even the slightest movement demanded several times more effort than usual. The flow of her martial energy was also inexplicably obstructed.

He stepped back along the iron chain, his figure vanishing perfectly into the thick fog. His tone was full of contempt and indolence. "If you surrender, this old man can promise you wealth
