Huang Lie's smile froze halfway across his lips. He watched Kang Shi stride in, and though displeasure had already risen in his heart, he still wore an easygoing expression. "I wonder what you mean by that, Strategist Kang? When has Huang ever harbored ill intent?"

Kang Shi pressed his fingers against the hilt of his sword. Killing Intent radiated from him, utterly undisguised and unchecked, enough to make Huang Lie's personal guards rush forward to protect him. Huang Lie raised a hand to stop them, then gestured for Kang Shi to continue. He wanted to hear what Kang Shi had to say.

Kang Shi gave a scornful laugh. "Alliance Lord Huang, did you know Tao Yan defected to the enemy?"

Huang Lie's tiger eyes sprang wide. Losing control of his emotions, he shoved aside the guards and demanded, "Is this true?"

Kang Shi watched Huang Lie put on an act with a mocking gaze.
