Background / History
The Kunlun Mirror chose Qiu Changtian immediately after his transmigration. It warned him that the world would be destroyed in one thousand years and assigned him to recover the six fragments of Nuwa’s Sky Mending Stone, repair the breach in heaven, and avert the Age of Dharma’s End. It is an Innate Supreme Treasure on the same level as the Sky Mending Stone. 1 3
It initially identifies a fragment inside Kunlun Taiqing Sect’s Yuxu Palace, though later cannot precisely locate it because of obscuring spells. It also identifies the second fragment as buried three thousand meters beneath Shushan Shangqing Sect, and detects a third at Penglai Yuqing Temple within an uncertain spatial anomaly. 1 2 3 11
To let Qiu investigate all three sects, the Mirror establishes the identities of Qiu Changtian, Ling Yunpo, and Luo Yan. Each identity relies on a separate personality template, and the Mirror repeatedly returns Qiu to recorded spacetime coordinates so the identities can appear to lead separate lives. 3 11 34
Abilities & Functions
Mirror Flower Water Moon
The Mirror’s core technique overlays Qiu Changtian with a chosen identity template. It creates a lasting illusion that alters how others perceive his appearance, voice, scent, touch, and overall bearing—even when examined through sensory techniques. 3
- Creates mirrored records of beings, allowing Qiu to imitate a target and gradually synchronize with their talents and aptitudes. 5
- Supports distinct personas including Qiu Changtian’s Invincible Persona, Ling Yunpo’s Unbending Persona, and Luo Yan’s Hypocritical/Fake Persona. 1 5 11 12
- Reinforces observers’ impressions through subtle mental suggestions, making the identities difficult to confuse. 11
- Requires Qiu’s words and conduct to suit the selected role; low synchronization causes inconsistencies that may expose the disguise. 3 5
- Can weaken a persona or deliberately allow Qiu’s genuine temperament to leak through, as it does around Shi Liuli and An Zhisu. 24 28
Talent Synchronization
The Mirror monitors synchronization between Qiu and each template, announcing increases when his conduct successfully fits the persona. 1 5 12
- High synchronization keeps template-derived talents functioning, including Qiu Changtian’s Clear Dao Heart. 2
- Clear Dao Heart accelerates cultivation, improves enlightenment chances, and grants immunity to illusions, mental barriers, Qi Deviation, and similar negative states. 2
- Synchronization can decline when Qiu neglects a persona or behaves in a way that feels forced even to himself. 4 5
- The Mirror can manipulate synchronization indirectly by adjusting the strength of its persona overlay. 24 28
Spacetime Traversal and Save Points
The Mirror can fix spacetime coordinates, record them as save points, and transport Qiu’s body between them. 3 34
- Lets Qiu return to an earlier point in one identity after spending time elsewhere as another, creating convincing alibis for Qiu Changtian, Ling Yunpo, and Luo Yan. 3
- Maintains one self-consistent timeline rather than permitting unrestricted timeline changes. 22
- Smooths minor discrepancies through Mirror Flower Water Moon, but attempts to substantially alter established history fail and invite backlash from the Great Dao of Time. 22
- A trip consumes vastly more spiritual energy than the spirit-stone rewards Qiu receives from sect missions. 23
Sky Mending Stone Guidance
The Mirror continually issues the world-destruction countdown and directs Qiu toward fragments of the Sky Mending Stone. 1 3 12
- Can identify broad locations and provide investigative recommendations. 3 11
- Cannot overcome every concealment method; the Kunlun fragment remains obscured by spells. 2
- Treats the recovery of all fragments as the central condition of its partnership with Qiu. 22
Personality
The Kunlun Mirror often speaks mechanically when announcing missions, locations, and template overlays, but its conversations reveal independent judgment, sarcasm, and frustration. It criticizes Qiu’s embarrassing lines when they lack sincerity, rather than rewarding them with synchronization. 5
It is increasingly disturbed by Qiu’s treatment of emotion as weakness and by his willingness to manipulate Xu Yinglian and An Zhisu through his personas. Although it recognizes their relationship as transactional—Qiu gathers the stones while it supplies extraordinary talents—it begins covertly loosening its own disguises so the women may perceive more of Qiu’s real self. 22 24 28
Relationships
- Qiu Changtian — Chose him to collect the Sky Mending Stone fragments; supplies templates, talents, traversal, and mission guidance in exchange for his cooperation. 1 22
- Xu Yinglian — Recognizes her Phoenix Bird bloodline and proposes that Qiu could obtain a corresponding talent by assuming her “seeking victory” character role. It later worries that she is being misled by Qiu’s invincible image. 3 22
- An Zhisu — The Mirror secretly weakens Ling Yunpo’s Unbending Persona around her in hopes that she will see Qiu’s true disposition. 22 28
- Shi Liuli — Manipulates Luo Yan’s persona overlay, causing her to notice an incongruity between Luo Yan’s harmless facade and Qiu’s underlying character. 24
- Qingping Sword — Trades sarcastic remarks with the sword spirit; Qingping calls it “Yao Yao,” while the Mirror objects to being drawn into Qingping’s claims of belonging to Ling Yunpo. 26
