When he asked this, Meng Qi silently kept one more name hidden in his heart: Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva!
She was recognized by all the Buddhist Pure Lands as one of the Four Great Bodhisattvas, and the strongest among them. To seek the Other Shore, she had made a great vow to achieve the complete Retribution Body Pure Land. She had very likely rushed to provide aid during the battle at Spirit Mountain all those years ago. She excelled in the Way of Life and Death and the art of guiding souls to salvation, and represented Buddhism in its contest to control the true underworld. She was the bane of wronged spirits and vengeful ghosts, and of those who clung to death. Not only did she fear no corruption from the Nine Abysses, she also sought to transform the Nine Abysses into an underworld, and the underworld into her own Pure Land. When she concealed herself on Heavenly Pillar Mountain, there would have been no need to impersonate Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's or Guanyin Bodhisattva's mount—those were Jiejiao Great Powers or Demon Race Great Sages who had experienced both the Investiture of the Gods and Journey to the West. And given the distinct traits of her martial arts and Sambhogakaya, both of which were especially effective against corruption and death, she should not still be "neither dead
