Lianfeng reached out to stop the wary Qiangwei, then looked at Si Yao, still relatively calm.

"Dangerous? You think even a little game like this is dangerous?" Si Yao said coolly.

"Even a child who has just experienced Tianqi could manage this level of Yongzhen Realm Divine Power."

"If you consider even this level of power dangerous, where do you get the confidence to face the Void?"

Hearing the notification in his mind, Si Yao raised an eyebrow slightly and considered the situation.

Although Yongzhen Realm Divine Power had not yet fully materialized, he could still use his incomplete Gene Chain and spend some True Points to transform the vast Dark Energy he controlled into natural elements, creating the awe-inspiring, intimidating spectacle before them.

Though these sights had no real offensive power, they were still highly effective for intimidating others.

"Granted, Earth Civilization is weak right now, like a toddler taking its first steps in the vast universe. But it has limitless potential and room to grow. Given enough time and guidance, it may yet rise."

"Grow? I'm afraid you don't have that kind of time." Si Yao slowly lowered his right hand. As he did, the Heavenly Layer, which had surged as if to tear heaven and earth apart, gradually settled, as though nothing had ever happened.

Lianfeng was taken aback. A flicker of confusion crossed her eyes as she pressed him, "What do you mean by that? Could you explain?"

"Exactly what I said," Si Yao replied coolly.

"The Angels have arrived. Do you think the Demons will be far behind?"

The Demons had been nearly wiped out in the previous war. With Carl's help, Morgana had scattered Demon Gene Seeds across Earth. Angel Zhui, guardian of the Milky Way Galaxy, had sensed the abnormal Energy Fluctuation in the area and come to investigate.

To cover for Morgana's Demon Gene Seeds, Carl had deployed Crocodile God Soton.

After Soton was dealt with, however, negotiations with the Underworld, along with the traces left behind on Earth by the Super Seminary and Lieyang, forced Angel Zhui to withdraw from Earth for the time being. This allowed Morgana's Demon Genes to remain in storage.

Carl's plan had already begun. It wouldn't be long before the Demons returned.

Of the civilizations visited by the Demons, nine out of ten perished amid the chaos of so-called "survival of the fittest." To the Demons, Earth was a vast Gene Pasture. Even without the Taotie invasion, Earth would still face one disaster after another.

"Demons..." Lianfeng's expression darkened.

"A civilization that can't even face the crisis in front of it, yet wants to face the Void? Don't make me laugh," Si Yao said.

Lianfeng fell silent for a moment. "Mr. Si Yao, you keep bringing up the Void..."

"Enough. I don't want to waste time on this. You're not qualified to discuss the Void with me," Si Yao cut in.

It was too early to discuss the Void. It wouldn't help make his lies come true, and it could easily put the Angels on their guard.

"All right, then... could you tell me why you took him?" Lianfeng glanced at Crocodile God Soton, who sat obediently to one side.

"I was bored, so I got myself a pet," Si Yao replied coolly.

A pet?

Lianfeng's eye twitched.

He was treating a Beast God with a Peak Beast Body as a pet?

"Anything else?" Si Yao asked.

Lianfeng paused. "If possible, the Super Seminary would like to establish some degree of cooperation with you. We can provide whatever you need, including information and technology from this era. In return, we hope you'll offer some assistance to Earth Civilization in the days ahead."

"That sounds like you're taking it upon yourself to make that decision," Si Yao said.

"I'm currently the highest-ranking technical official at the Earth Super Seminary," Lianfeng replied.

"I have a certain degree of authority in this area."

"It would also satisfy my curiosity about Ancient Civilization."

Just how advanced had the Pangu Civilization, which existed hundreds of millions of years ago, become? And how had it fallen? As a scholar, she couldn't possibly have no curiosity about such things.

The Super Seminary brought civilization and more powerful forces, but the arrival of such advanced things inevitably meant upheaval.

Yet the Super Seminary always advocated so-called freedom and equality. It failed to regulate the technology it spread, letting people use it however they pleased.

The split between the Angels and Demons could be blamed on Carl, since he had conspired with Liang Bing to study the Void, turning Kaisha and Liang Bing against each other.

But the Deno Civil War that followed was the clearest embodiment of every flaw in the Super Seminary's approach to sharing knowledge.

Because it advocated so-called freedom for civilizations to develop and compete, it let the Deno Arms Race unfold unchecked.

The Deno Civilization had covered in a few thousand years the ground that the Angel and Lieyang Civilizations had taken tens of thousands of years to traverse, all thanks to the Super Seminary's help.

And skipping all those stages of exploration meant the civilization was dangerously shallow, lacking reverence for power and any deep understanding of civilization.

They didn't know how hard-won power was, or understand how fragile their civilization was even as it grew stronger!

As the arms race accelerated, the Deno Civilization developed at breakneck speed. But under that kind of pressure, even one small problem could have led to total ruin!

The outbreak of the Deno Civil War and Lieyang's involvement were classic cases of playing with fire and getting burned!

"Setting aside the Angel Civilization, both the Deno and Lieyang Civilizations that the Super Seminary visited were typical Aggressive Civilizations," Si Yao said.

"Earth Civilization is the same. You keep saying you want to protect this Kind Civilization. Kind?"

"If Earth Civilization gets through this crisis and your Super Gene Engineering really does mature, what will Earth Civilization do next?"

"From what I've seen, there's a very high chance this civilization will launch invasions just like Lieyang once did. No—in fact, they'll go even further than Lieyang. They may even adopt the same tactics the Taotie use now."

They wouldn't be much better than the Taotie. In fact, they'd be even crueler and more insane.

The Taotie were no more than a bunch of great apes who hadn't finished evolving. Their intelligence was limited, but humans on Earth were different.
