A horde of demons, some wielding firearms and others God-Slaying Weapons, surged ferociously toward the two Federation warriors.
These demon soldiers were veteran subordinates who had followed Morgana for thousands, even tens of thousands of years, in battle.
Their combat prowess and loyalty had been tested through iron and blood over long campaigns.
They were the true backbone of Morgana's confidence to roam the universe and dare to challenge the Angel Civilization, which upheld the Order of Justice, for tens of thousands of years.
Yet, the peril of this skirmish had far exceeded the knowledge accumulated from their millennia of combat experience, leaving them only with brutal casualties.
Shwoosh!
"Alien scum, die!"
A crisp, cold shout erupted in the minds of dozens of demon soldiers.
Terrifying psionic energy struck their brains directly through the mental dimension, washing over their will.
At the same time, its dreadful power manifested in the physical dimension.
Puff puff puff!!
A spectacular sight unfolded as the skulls of dozens of demon soldiers burst outward from within, blood and shredded flesh splattering all around.
Due to Mars' thin atmosphere, the sound of the skulls exploding was somewhat muffled, and its range was very short.
The volume and quality of the sound were also heavily affected, making it seem faint and distorted.
Yet the impact it caused was still enough to make one's scalp tingle!
The other demon soldiers, seeing their comrades die so inexplicably and horribly, were both shocked and enraged.
"For the Queen!"
Several demon soldiers, wielding God-Slaying Spears capable of piercing a God Body, used Micro-Wormholes to close in on the two Federation warriors.
One of the latter casually raised a hand, conjuring a miniature Psionic Shield that effortlessly blocked the enemies' advance.
Then, with a light tap of a finger, the heads of several demon soldiers burst open without warning, as easily as crushing a few ants.
Clearly, this was not a battle but more like a merciless slaughter.
These two Federation warriors not only commanded powerful psionic energy but had also undergone specific genetic and cybernetic ascension modifications.
The combat capability they could unleash, even if each were taken alone, would achieve an effect of "one man matching a thousand troops."
Mars was neither Earth nor any other Human Federation world.
They were fighting on hostile ground here, and according to Federation battlefield regulations, without needing to worry about damaging the planet's ecology or geography, they could go all out and exert their full strength.
That was precisely why the Federation had sent only two warriors to wipe out the Demon Legion's several hundred demon soldiers.
"Sergeant Major Dark Star, the alien species in this universe are really a bunch of weaklings."
"'Pathetically fragile' is practically a term tailor-made for them."
In the mental channel, the two Federation warriors exchanged thoughts with ease.
In their hands, the several hundred demon soldiers were nearly annihilated in an instant.
Only Morgana and a few key subordinates remained.
According to information obtained from the command ship, the Morgana before them was the leader of the Demon Legion, possessing a resilient Fourth Generation God Body.
She could not be permanently killed through conventional means; as long as Morgana survived, she could rebuild the Demon Legion at any time using resources.
The best way to deal with such an enemy was to capture her and send her to the Federation's Scientific Research Department as an experimental subject for permanent containment.
Or have the researchers completely decompose her into useless organic matter, eliminating any possibility of resurrection on a technical level.
"Surrender now, or die."
A mental pulse resonated within the minds of Morgana and her group, conveying the two Federation warriors' intent.
Morgana stared at the demon soldier corpses littering the ground, fury already surging in her chest, ready to erupt.
She was the Demon Queen, and her Dark Plane was immensely powerful, capable of resisting psionic mental shocks; this level of mental interference had negligible effect on her.
"Screw your surrender, you're the ones who should die!"
Massive Demon Claws appeared, one on each side, slamming violently toward the two Federation warriors.
Sergeant Major "Dark Star," of Honor Champion Class, had a registered psionic limit of 79 rings in the Federation's official records.
Among the psionic limit levels promulgated by the Human Federation, the theoretical maximum was 101 rings.
A 101-ring psionicist was a transcendent being capable of threatening most civilizations across an entire galaxy on their own.
In the Void Realm, such a psionicist could even rival some weaker Void entities.
Within the entire Human Federation, no officially registered 101-ring psionicist existed.
As for a 79-ring psionicist, while not quite that terrifying, casually crushing planets, or even destroying massive stars at full power, or conjuring a micro black hole—these were all within their reach.
Warriors like this numbered in the millions across the Federation, and Dark Star was just one of them.
Facing Morgana's Demon Claws, Dark Star couldn't even be bothered to dodge, simply striding step by step toward her.
"Sergeant Major, the restriction field has been deployed."
"To prevent the target from escaping via wormhole technology, countermeasures have also been activated."
"Well done."
In the brief mental exchange, Dark Star Sergeant Major waved a hand casually.
Surging psionic energy instantly altered the physical matter of reality, and the Demon Claws Morgana had unleashed emitted a series of metallic groans as they twisted.
Looking again, the two claws forged from Dark Silver had turned into scrap metal, losing most of their metallic activity as they clattered to the ground.
"Damn it..."
"Soton, what are you hiding for? Get up there and cut them down!"
"Better yet, eat them!"
Morgana glared irritably at a cowering crocodile behind her.
Crocodile God Soton, a peak beast-form divine warrior of immense power, a veritable humanoid weapon—a formidable asset Morgana had acquired from Karl.
But right now, Crocodile God Soton clutched two Crescent Hand Axes, trembling as he shrank behind Morgana.
He had just witnessed these two terrifying humans kill a swarm of demon warriors with a mere gesture, and his crocodile courage had nearly shattered.
That swagger he once had on Earth, casually devouring humans as snacks, was gone without a trace.
"My queen sister, I, I dare not..." Soton's voice quivered.
Go up and fight those two monsters? Wasn't that just suicide?
With no retreat left, Soton even felt the urge to flee.
He was utterly cowed.
Morgana snapped, "What are you afraid of? If you die, I'll find a way to revive you later."
"You're a god, you can't die. Now get up there!"
"Alright, alright..."
Kicked forward by Morgana, Soton steeled himself and charged, swinging his Crescent Hand Axes down at the approaching Sergeant Major Dark Star.
Crack!
As expected, before Soton could even get close, his head exploded on the spot, and his massive corpse toppled.
Crocodile God Soton fell dead on the spot.
Dark Star and the other Federation warrior stepped past the reptilian alien's corpse with disgust.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Feilu, Black Wind..."
Morgana watched helplessly as demon warrior after demon warrior had their heads burst open, her expression a mix of panic and fury.
As the Demon Queen, wielding a fourth-generation divine body, Morgana was the most refined master of wormhole algorithms among all divine units in the Known Universe.
She had considered using wormhole algorithms to open a micro-wormhole and escape.
Even without Demon One, she could rely on her own abilities to soar freely through cosmic space, beyond anyone's control.
But the reason she hadn't fled wasn't unwillingness—it was sheer impossibility.
The space around her seemed bound by some restriction; even with all her effort, Morgana couldn't open the tiniest wormhole entrance.
The enemy pressed closer. Alone now, Morgana leaped up, ready to take flight, but a surge of psionic force yanked her back, slamming her hard to the ground.
She quickly reversed her hand, pulling a longsword from her armory for a final desperate struggle.
Bang!
Sergeant Major Dark Star caught the blade with ease.
Under Morgana's horrified gaze, the sword—forged with Dark Silver alloy—was crushed to pieces in his bare hand.
Then Dark Star grabbed Morgana by the head and smashed her down with a brutal blow.
A monstrous force that nearly defied the laws of physics, coupled with a terrifying psionic shockwave.
Under the dual assault, Morgana felt her skull nearly shatter, yet her consciousness lingered:
"You..."
Beneath such devastation, her divine body and Dark Plane Gene System seemed to fail, plunging her into unconsciousness.
"Mission complete. Capture secured. Reporting to command center."
