The Arrival of the World Breakers

After the Void Gate opened, what would happen?

Although Carl had run countless rehearsals and simulations, he had never imagined the outcome would be like this.

A gateway forced open by surging Void Energy.

The Void World revealed within it held none of the wonders Carl had imagined.

Only an unknown thing called fear descended from the Void World into the Star System where Death Song Academy was located.

One after another, figures that seemed almost illusory appeared. Carl was certain they had come from the Void World—the Void World he had never understood!

Every figure that appeared before him contained terrifying power pouring down from a higher dimension. It seemed they could destroy the entire Star System with a mere gesture.

"My god..."

Sno's voice was strained, and his whole body had gone cold.

He was nearly crushed by overwhelming fear. Stiff as a statue, he turned his head toward Carl.

Carl was faring no better. His heart was filled with fear, too.

And this fear was an emotion beyond his control, the most primal terror erupting from deep within him!

He shouldn't have been capable of feeling fear!

He was a Phantom Body. The instincts governed by a flesh-and-blood body had long since left him!

A Phantom Body was a powerful spiritual consciousness sustained by Void Energy, allowing his life to endure forever.

Void Energy was an immensely powerful higher-dimensional energy!

With his Phantom Body, Carl could control every part of himself—even the slightest emotion—however he pleased.

There was no way he should have been unable to suppress his fear.

But at that very moment, the fear was undeniably real!

It was as if the instant he saw those figures, Carl's Phantom Body had completely ceased to function, reducing him from the lofty Death God to an ordinary God River Body.

The Great Clock stopped responding, and all data processing came to an immediate halt.

The Void Engine installed in Carl shut down as well.

When the figures descending from the higher dimension noticed Carl and Sno, they turned their gazes toward them.

There was not a trace of emotion in their eyes. Yet the words they sought to convey entered Carl's consciousness through some unknowable means:

"New feeding grounds detected... New prey detected... Time for another feast..."

"Feeding grounds?"

"Are you... gods from the Void World?" Beneath his robes, Carl's body trembled uncontrollably. His thirst for knowledge drove him to ask.

Feeding?

What were they feeding on?

What were these gods from the Void World talking about?

Were they planning to treat them as food?

The fear in Carl's heart grew stronger, and his despair swelled with it.

"The Void World?"

Blue light pulsed from the higher-dimensional figures, and several crystal-like eyes flickered.

They immediately analyzed the meaning of Carl's description of the Void World, then answered nonchalantly:

"That was the last dining hall... We've nearly eaten everything there... Next... It's your turn..."

"You're prey, too... Food..."

Eaten everything?

What did that mean?!

They had eaten the entire Void World?!

How was that possible?!

The sudden turn of events brought Carl's thoughts to a halt.

He watched as an enormous higher-dimensional hand seized him and Sno, plucking them from their reality and into the dimension before it, as casually as picking up two ants.

Carl sank into an icy abyss. The bone-chilling cold left him powerless to resist.

He had thought he would become the pioneer of a new Void era. At the very least, he could bring about a revolution, ushering in a technological transformation for the civilizations of the Known Universe!

He had also imagined that some kind of danger might lurk in the Void World.

If the experiment failed, then the moment he opened the gate to the Void World, a giant beast might rush out and swallow him whole...

That had been the worst-case scenario.

But Carl had never imagined that the Void World he had yearned for and pursued would turn out to be someone else's dining hall!

What exactly were these higher-dimensional beings before him?

"Fear... Despair... Resentment... These feelings... Are so wonderful..."

The other figure made no move to open its mouth, yet Sno was undeniably eaten by it.

In the being's expression and actions, "eating" seemed to be nothing more than a straightforward higher-dimensional concept.

"Being eaten" was a higher-dimensional concept, too.

Under the crushing force of such higher-dimensional concepts, even the mightiest divine body had no power to resist.

This was an irresistible force even more terrifying than the Ultimate Fear!

Carl watched helplessly as Sno, who had followed him for tens of thousands of years, vanished completely before his eyes.

And he was next.

"What... are you?"

At the final moment, Carl's thirst for knowledge compelled him to ask the last question of his life.

"World Breakers..."

The moment he was "eaten," Carl's Phantom Body was extinguished, vanishing beneath the crushing weight of the higher dimension.

After eating Carl and Sno, the "World Breakers" did not stop.

Using the Void Gate opened by Carl as an anchor, they swiftly built a gateway that could let even more of their projections enter the universe's reality.

An interdimensional anchor!

Then a vast higher-dimensional fleet descended into the Known Universe.

This fleet was unlike that of any civilization. Its hulls seemed to be made of layers upon layers of illusory membranes of light.

Beneath those membranes, the fleet gleamed like emissaries of light descending from the kingdom of the gods into the mortal world.

Projected from a higher dimension into a lower one, the ships inevitably had to obey the laws of reality in the lower-dimensional world.

But even under the constraints of a lower dimension, these "World Breaker" warships from the higher dimension clearly retained extraordinary performance and combat capability.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The "World Breaker" fleet surged at tremendous superluminal speed toward the various Star Systems of the Styx Galaxy.

The Taotie Civilization, the Sirius Civilization, and the others in the Styx Galaxy that Carl had once protected would all become prey and food for the "World Breakers."

They had no interest in plundering matter, destroying stars, or demolishing other cosmic structures.

But to these "World Breakers," every civilization and all life—whether organic or mechanical—was a meal for the taking.

The moment the "World Breakers" descended into this universe, they made that clear to every civilization in existence.

After Xidra received the "World Breaker" message from the Styx Galaxy, she furrowed her brow.

Why was another "World Breaker" here?

Another disaster-level threat that attacked every civilization indiscriminately.

"We... have sensed the presence of the 'Eternal Throne' within your civilization's territory..."

"Hand it over at once... Hand it over!!"

"Soon... We will come and take it ourselves!!"

Looking at the distorted, grotesque figure of the "World Breaker" on the projection screen, Xidra furrowed her lovely brows once more.
