Angel Yan commented.
After judging the distance as Suo Dun closed in,
she activated a Micro Wormhole, and her body vanished from where she stood.
Suo Dun's attack hit nothing but air.
His massive body couldn't stop under the momentum of his giant axe,
and he charged right out of the alley.
The driver of a Citroën C6 that happened to be passing by
saw a giant crocodile flying toward him from the side.
Its enormous body blotted out the sky beyond the windshield like a canopy.
The next second,
Bam!
The windshield shattered, and the airbags deployed.
Suo Dun's body was wedged in the twisted, deformed frame of the car,
while his razor-sharp giant axe had sunk halfway into the asphalt.
"Gah! I'm so mad!"
"Another one of those tricks where you just disappear into thin air! If you've got guts, fight me one-on-one!"
With a single springing leap,
Suo Dun jumped down from the car
and pointed at Angel Yan, who was walking out of the alley step by step, cursing her out.
The bizarre scene
caught the attention of pedestrians all along the street.
Especially when they saw Suo Dun's monstrous appearance,
the crowd's panicked screams rose one after another.
"Holy crap! Isn't that—the alien crocodile that appeared and disappeared on the neighboring shopping street yesterday?"
"A crocodile! A talking crocodile! An alien! The Earth's doomed! Run!!!"
"Call the police! It's an alien!"
"Look, another one's coming out! A blonde woman with wings!"
"Monsters! A monster woman! A crocodile monster! Run!"
Inside a department store not far away,
Ye Yang was pushing a cart through rows of shelves, picking out household supplies.
Suddenly, all the customers in the store rushed toward the exits in a swarm,
shouting about going outside to watch aliens fight and all that.
"Aliens fighting? Could it be Suo Dun?"
Ye Yang muttered as he pushed his cart.
He followed the moving crowd as well.
Some people went to the second floor, others to the third, all watching through the glass.
Ye Yang, meanwhile, made his way to the deserted first-floor lobby,
where the glass doors had already been shut.
Everyone was probably afraid the first floor was dangerous and didn't dare stay there.
But Ye Yang didn't mind.
He looked outside through the glass doors.
In the sky,
Suo Dun had returned to his original form
and was fighting a blonde female angel with white wings.
Every clash sent visible ripples through the air.
Both of them moved through the sky at astonishing speeds,
but Suo Dun was clearly being suppressed.
Every time he landed, he had to stomp on the nearby buildings along the shore before he could react and move again.
This was also having a huge impact on the surrounding buildings and public order, causing widespread panic.
Suddenly,
in midair,
Angel Yan seized her chance and struck Suo Dun hard in the stomach with a high-speed Taijutsu roundhouse kick.
Her long, slender leg was like a compass,
and it kicked Suo Dun's entire body into the shape of a bowing crocodile in midair.
He plunged toward the ground at tremendous speed.
As luck would have it,
he was falling right toward the entrance of the department store where Ye Yang stood.
Rumble!!!
Thud, thud, thud!!!
Suo Dun's hard, beastly body slammed into the ground.
Like a bulldozer, it tore through the earth and slid all the way to the glass doors at the store entrance.
Flying rocks shattered the glass doors in an instant.
Countless glittering shards scattered across the floor.
Ye Yang pushed his cart, piled high with supplies, over to Suo Dun, who was lying in the crater.
"Hey, Suo Dun, why did you turn back into your original form? Didn't I tell you not to cause a panic? It'll be a huge hassle."
"Huh? Big bro, what are you doing here?"
At the sound of Ye Yang's voice, Suo Dun leaped up from the crater with a whoosh.
He seemed completely unaffected by the blow.
Instead, he looked deeply aggrieved as he said,
"Big bro, it's not like I wanted to! I was beating up that human who slapped my butt when this female angel suddenly showed up, snatched the leaf you gave me, and crushed it. So I started fighting her!"
Hearing that,
Ye Yang raised his head to look at the sword-wielding female angel hovering in the sky with her wings spread.
He scratched the back of his head, speechless.
What a pain.
Couldn't this world have just one peaceful moment?
"From the looks of it, you can't beat her. Come on, I've picked out what I need. I'll go pay first. Wait for me outside."
Ye Yang glanced back into the supermarket.
The entire lobby was deserted.
Even the security guards and cashiers had all hidden upstairs.
There was nobody around to handle his payment.
"Don't, big bro! Who says I can't beat her? It's just that this woman keeps disappearing and reappearing. She's impossible to pin down. If she fought me up close, I'd chop her in half!"
Suo Dun looked frustrated.
His big, adorable eyes gazed at Ye Yang,
hoping Ye Yang would step in to help.
Suddenly,
the air stirred above the broken ground at the store entrance.
Angel Yan stepped out of a Micro Wormhole.
Her cold gaze passed over Suo Dun and fixed on Ye Yang.
She asked in a flippant tone,
"So you're its big bro? Just an ordinary person? That pocket on your chest looks interesting. Mind if I borrow it to play with?"
Hearing this,
Ye Yang immediately grew wary.
Did this female angel have such a sharp eye?
She'd spotted the unusual nature of the Fourth Dimensional Pocket at a glance.
"Hey, hey! You're done for! My big bro's combat skills are unbeatable!"
"I just told my bro you broke the transformation leaf he gave me. You're gonna die right here, I'm telling you!"
"Gah-rah-rah~"
Suo Dun excitedly swished his tail,
striking a taunting pose.
"Is that so? You don't look like much."
Angel Yan murmured.
Her pupils once again glowed white.
She tried to use the Eye of Insight to enter Ye Yang's consciousness, read his memories, and even alter his will.
But—
"What's going on? The Eye of Insight failed!"
Yan was secretly shocked.
A look of surprise and disbelief appeared on her face.
A mysterious, powerful force was protecting this ordinary person's brain. It was as secure as a fortress, without the slightest gap or weakness.
This made no sense by the laws of the universe.
"With technology that can protect your brain like this, and you running around with this Beast God Warrior, you must be one of the Death God Karl of the River Styx's men."
Angel Yan asked.
"You're nuts. I have no idea what you're talking about. You aliens, stay away from me."
Ye Yang replied indifferently.
Then he turned to go pay inside the supermarket.
"Stop. Whether you're one of Karl's men doesn't matter. Why did you have this idiot pretending to be an angel?"
Angel Yan shook the Flame Battle Sword in her hand.
Boom!
Blazing flames roared to life.
"Damn it, you wanna lay a hand on my big bro? You'll have to get past your grandpa Suo Dun first!"
Suo Dun stepped in front of Ye Yang,
assuming a fighting stance.
Ye Yang shook his head, annoyed by the hassle.
Could these aliens please stay away from him?
Suddenly,
a light bulb went off in Ye Yang's head.
He quickly reached into his Fourth Dimensional Pocket.
Then he pulled out a stack of red-and-blue round badges.
"Ta-da! N.S. Badges."
"Suo Dun, throw these at her. You only need to get one to stick." Ye Yang whispered.
