Background

Before the main story, Suo Dun was exiled to Earth. According to He Xi's account, he once tried to become Earth’s king and massacred humans, drawing out Sun Wukong; Angel Zhui considered him an Angel war criminal, while He Xi’s main body also clashed with Sun Wukong over who had the right to suppress him 93.

Accounts of his origin conflict. Ye Yang’s interrogation identifies him as a native Earth monster, Angel Yan identifies him as a Beast God Warrior created by Death God Karl, and Shi Hao’s Void Engine classifies his biological origin as Styx 24 26 84.

Hungry and exhausted, Suo Dun appeared on Tianhe City’s Xiajiu Commercial Pedestrian Street and charged at Ye Yang intending to eat him. Ye Yang answered with a light-speed kick that pierced Suo Dun’s chest and launched him into the sky; his durable Beast Body reduced the damage to a penetrating flesh wound 1 2.

He later survived Ye Yang’s destruction of the Taotie Great Cross Flagship. Ye Yang brought him back to Earth, interrogated him, and accepted him as a subordinate—partly because Suo Dun’s tough body could serve as a mount 22 24.

Appearance

In his normal form, Suo Dun is a massive humanoid crocodile with a heavily built Beast Body and an overtly monstrous presence that causes public panic.

  • Long, swinging crocodile tail and an elongated, tooth-filled snout 1
  • Armor-like crocodile skin and clawed limbs 25
  • Golden-yellow crocodile eyes 52
  • Usually carries a Crescent Moon Battle Axe 26
  • Can appear deceptively as a beautiful female Angel through external transformation technology, though his rough beast-like voice remains unchanged 25 30

Personality

Suo Dun is simple-minded, gluttonous, and easily excitable. Food is his most immediate concern, and he readily follows promises of good meals or opportunities to increase his status 24 38. He is also impulsive: insults, damaged property, or perceived humiliation quickly provoke him into demanding a fight 26 62 87.

His strongest trait is loyalty to Ye Yang, whom he calls “Big Brother.” He rejects Liang Bing’s first attempt to recruit him as “poaching,” shields Ye Yang from Angel Yan’s lightning, and mourns Ye Yang when he believes him dead 33 39 52. He respects powerful people, however; Liang Bing’s resilience and God Body eventually earn his admiration despite their hostile first encounters 39 40.

As king, Suo Dun is proud and highly concerned with saving face. He wants his rule recognized, declares protection over those who can offer him something valuable, and repeatedly seeks battle against the Taotie to restore his reputation 83 87.

Abilities & Skills

Third-Generation Peak Beast Body

Suo Dun possesses the physical power and resilience of a peak Beast God Warrior.

  • Survived a light-speed kick that pierced through his chest, suffering only a penetrating flesh wound 2
  • Overpowered Angel Yan in direct weapon clashes, forcing her back despite her Flame-grade sword and extensive combat experience 26
  • Was ranked among the top three combatants of the Xiong Bing Lian after examination 94
  • Endured Ye Yang’s lightning attack with only minor wounds, despite complaining that it nearly killed him 33 36
  • Cannot fly; he relies on leaps, thrown weapons, or allies to reach aerial enemies 63
  • Can be overwhelmed by stronger close-combat fighters such as Liu Chuang 45

Axe Combat

Suo Dun favors brutal close-range attacks with his Crescent Moon Battle Axe.

  • Uses explosive leaps and horizontal axe swings to overwhelm opponents 26
  • Throws his axe as a returning projectile, cutting Liang Bing’s fourth-generation God Body 39
  • Burrows into the ground and attacks from below while spinning at high speed 45
  • Later seized and carried Liu Chuang’s God Slaying Axe as payment for protecting the Xiong Bing Lian members 83 88

Transformation

Suo Dun can use Ye Yang’s Tanuki Transformation Leaf when supplied with sufficient Psychic Power.

  • First transformed into Angel Zhui, the Angel who had sealed him in the past 25
  • Later copied Angel Yan’s appearance to avoid frightening Liang Bing 30
  • Retains his own coarse voice and behavior, making the disguise conspicuously unconvincing 25 30
  • Angel Yan destroyed his first Transformation Leaf, forcibly reverting him to his normal form 26

N.S. Badge Tactics

Ye Yang equipped Suo Dun with N.S. Badges during the fight with Angel Yan.

  • Successfully attached a badge to Yan’s wing despite not understanding the badges’ polarity system 28
  • The badge’s magnetic force interfered with Yan’s movements and pulled her toward Suo Dun during close combat 28
  • His inability to distinguish the badges’ colors and poles limits his independent use of them 28

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Crescent Moon Battle Axe — Suo Dun’s signature axe, used in melee and as a returning thrown weapon 26 39

  • Liang Bing / Morgana — Initially tried to recruit Suo Dun away from Ye Yang, prompting a fight. She later erased part of his memory and recruited him while he mourned Ye Yang; Suo Dun comes to admire her strength and protects her after Hua Ye injures her 39 40 52 61 63.

  • Angel Zhui — The Angel who sealed Suo Dun long ago. He chose her form for his first transformation because her appearance left a deep impression on him 25 26.
  • Sun Wukong — Former adversary who fought Suo Dun during his earlier attempt to rule Earth. In the present, Sun Wukong helps persuade him to enter the Huaxia Battlefield 93.
  • Liu Chuang — Rival axe-user who defeated Suo Dun in their courtyard fight. Liu Chuang later offers him a route to Huaxia, then delays him for two days and loses his God Slaying Axe to Suo Dun as payment 45 87 88.
  • Qiangwei — A Xiong Bing Lian member Suo Dun brings back after returning from the battlefield, claiming she sought help for Lena’s capture 127.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Tianhe City Incident

Suo Dun arrives in Tianhe City seeking food and targets Ye Yang as prey. Ye Yang incapacitates him with a light-speed kick, establishing Suo Dun’s tremendous durability and Ye Yang’s overwhelming superiority 1 2.

Ye Yang’s Subordinate

After Suo Dun survives the destruction of the Taotie flagship, Ye Yang returns him to Earth and takes him in. Suo Dun accepts Ye Yang’s restrictions against eating humans and livestock, though he remains obsessed with finding food 22 24.

Angel Yan Conflict

Using a Transformation Leaf, Suo Dun impersonates Angel Zhui and is confronted by Angel Yan. Yan destroys the leaf, provoking Suo Dun into battle; his raw strength exceeds Yan’s in direct clashes, but her mobility and micro-wormholes frustrate him 25 26 27. With Ye Yang’s N.S. Badges, Suo Dun helps restrict Yan’s movement through magnetic attraction 28.

Huang Village and Liang Bing

Suo Dun lives with Ye Yang in Huang Village, where he acts as a hungry but useful household subordinate. He rejects Liang Bing’s recruitment attempt, attacks her with his axe, and is defeated by her void restraint; afterward, he develops grudging respect for her strength 38 39 40.

Jerusalem and the Crocodile King

After Liang Bing erases his memory, Suo Dun becomes simple-minded and destructive while assisting her in Jerusalem. The pair seize the city, replace its Jesus statue with a giant crocodile statue, and become its uncrowned rulers 61. Suo Dun is later crowned Crocodile King and commands a Crocodile Army whose general oversees two hundred thousand troops 82 92.

Conflict with King Shi Hao

At his coronation banquet, Suo Dun promises protection to the desperate Xiong Bing Lian members in exchange for valuable payment and takes Liu Chuang’s God Slaying Axe 83. He defies King Shi Hao when the Taotie ruler attacks the ceremony, but Ye Yang ultimately banishes Shi Hao to another dimension 84 87.

Huaxia Battlefield

Determined to regain his face, Suo Dun insists on fighting the Taotie at the Huaxia Battlefield. Du Ka'ao and Sun Wukong refuse to transport his entire multinational army but permit Suo Dun himself to participate; he eagerly departs after being persuaded that a solo campaign would better enhance his kingly reputation 87 93. By Chapter 127, he has returned to Jerusalem after the Taotie and other hostile civilizations retreat 127.
