Am I Going to Die?

Uchiha Obito possessed Space-Time Ninjutsu, while Zetsu possessed the terrain-ignoring Mayfly Technique. Both could move far faster than ordinary shinobi.

Before long, Uchiha Obito and Zetsu caught up with Yahiko and Konan, who were fleeing.

As Yahiko and Konan fled, the space atop a hill ahead of them rippled into a vortex, and Uchiha Obito's figure appeared out of thin air on the hilltop.

A while later, Zetsu's figure emerged from underground as well.

Before Uchiha Obito could ask anything, Black Zetsu spoke first. "I asked the nearby White Zetsu. Nagato isn't around here!"

"What should we do?"

Uchiha Obito frowned. "A Shadow Clone can send the information it sees back to the Main Body. The last thing Nagato received should have been the information that Yahiko and Konan were being hunted by Root Ninja!"

"If Yahiko and Konan die here, we can pin the blame on Shimura Danzō!"

"Even if Hanzō the Salamander had no intention of moving against them, Nagato will surely develop a rift with him!"

"Though it won't be as perfect as the ominous premonition, it'll still let Nagato get his first glimpse of darkness!"

After only a brief moment of thought, Uchiha Obito developed Killing Intent toward Yahiko and Konan!

Black Zetsu hesitated before saying, "But if Nagato finds out that we killed Yahiko and Konan, he'll probably refuse to help us complete the plan even if it kills him!"

"Though his own wishes aren't important, if he's determined to oppose us, he can still cause us quite a bit of trouble!"

"The risk is too great!"

Black Zetsu had painstakingly plotted for thousands of years in order to rescue Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, who was sealed within the moon. He knew full well that even a tiny detail could have an enormous impact on what came later!

Thus, Black Zetsu did not want Unexpected complications over something like this and create obstacles for his own plan!

Uchiha Obito's gaze flickered. After pondering for a moment, he said, "Then we just won't let him know we did it!"

"We'll disguise ourselves as Root Ninja. We can leave Konan alive to go back and report to Nagato, but Yahiko must die!"

"That Kid has too much influence over Nagato!"

After his previous encounters with Nagato, Uchiha Obito had realized that persuading Nagato through words alone was nearly impossible, especially while Yahiko was still alive!

Yahiko and Konan were both Nagato's Closest Kin. Whatever Nagato did, he would consider their thoughts!

Konan was easier to deal with. She centered herself around Yahiko and Nagato and had no thoughts of her own, so it did not matter if she was left alive!

Yahiko, however, was different. Not only did he have ideas of his own, but he also deeply influenced Nagato's will!

To change Nagato's mind, Yahiko had to be removed first!

Moreover, something that bothered Uchiha Obito was that, in a daze, he had once seen his own shadow in Yahiko!

He could not accept that!

Black Zetsu said nothing more, merely giving Uchiha Obito a deep look.

After spending this time together, Black Zetsu had come to see that although Uchiha Obito had accepted Uchiha Madara's plan, he had ideas of his own!

Perhaps Uchiha Obito had never intended to revive Uchiha Madara at all!

Uchiha Obito acted as soon as he decided. Raising his hand, he grabbed at the White Zetsu beside Black Zetsu.

Half of Uchiha Obito's body had been altered by Hashirama Cells, granting it some plant-like traits. This made it convenient for White Zetsu to possess him, allowing him to wear White Zetsu like clothing.

That White Zetsu did not resist. Following Uchiha Obito's hand, he crawled onto Uchiha Obito's body and fused with him.

"Impersonation Technique!"

Uchiha Obito's body twisted for a moment before transforming into a masked Root Ninja.

Unlike ordinary Transformation Technique, the Impersonation Technique absorbed another person's Chakra and then reproduced identical Chakra in its original form. Even those most familiar with the target, or even Sensory Ninja, could not identify the disguise.

During the Fourth Shinobi World War in the Original Plot, White Zetsu's clones had once absorbed other people's Chakra, transformed into them, and infiltrated the Shinobi Allied Forces to slaughter them from within, throwing the entire force into chaos.
