It was a giant bear as large as a small mountain, covered from head to toe in dark-gold fur.
Its foreclaws scraped lightly at the ground, dark-gold light glinting from their razor-sharp tips.
"Lucky us. We really did run into a Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear." Chen Ye smiled, without even looking at Gu Yue.
He stepped forward, and the Second Soul Ring on his body lit up.
Seeing the fighting spirit in Chen Ye's eyes, Gu Yue took a small step back. Frost gathered around her, and several Ice Cones appeared, but she didn't attack.
Chen Ye stepped forward. Golden light rippled across his body, and scales spread over him.
The scales on the left half of his body were nearly twice as thick.
Encased in those massive scales, Chen Ye charged forward without hesitation and threw a punch.
Seeing him dare to attack first, the Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear roared and swung its enormous foreclaw. Dark-gold light flashed.
Both of them clearly had absolute confidence in their defenses.
One went straight for the other's neck, while the other swept past his opponent's fist and struck at the boy's body.
The sound of metal scraping rang out. The Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear's foreclaw struck Chen Ye, leaving a white streak across his Golden Dragon King scales.
Chen Ye's punch, however, slammed into the bear's neck and sent it flying.
Feeling its neck tear open in an instant, the Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear let out a horrific roar.
But Chen Ye didn't hesitate. He stepped forward again, like a humanoid Ferocious Beast.
He threw the same punch once more, but this time, the First Soul Ring on his body lit up.
Golden Dragon Blast erupted. Combined with the Second Soul Skill, Dragon King Body, its power doubled under the boost of the Second Soul Skill.
The terrifying Golden Dragon Blast struck. The Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear had no time to react before its entire body was blasted apart.

Chen Ye looked down at his body, his face tinged with confusion.
Gu Yue watched from nearby, her eyes flickering. A trace of shock showed in them, but mostly she looked relieved.
"His Martial Soul really is the Golden Dragon King. How did he bring a Martial Soul that shouldn't exist back into the world...?"
Gu Yue's eyes filled with thought. It reminded her of the other bloodline she had sensed.
"There's definitely something wrong here. I need to investigate this properly. Even if Chen Ye is a Child of Destiny, he shouldn't have the Golden Dragon King Martial Soul."
Gu Yue's eyes flickered, but before she could think any further, Chen Ye's voice reached her.
"Come on, Senior Sister. Let's fight. I want to see if you've improved."
