Background and History
Bi Biyao commands Wuhun Hall from the Pope's Palace. After reading Lin Chen's diary, she orders Ghost and Yue Guan to investigate its young author. She then sends Ling Yuan Douluo to the Star Dou Great Forest with instructions to bring Lin Chen back alive, even if others must be killed 2 3.
The attempt fails when Di Tian severely injures Ling Yuan. Recognizing that Wuhun Hall cannot withstand the forces protecting Lin Chen, Bi Biyao abandons a direct approach and decides to use the diary's predictions to seek a way to change her fate 10 11. Its account of Tang San's future godhood and the destruction of Spirit Hall leaves her feeling powerless; its account of Yu Xiaogang's use of Spirit Hall research turns her lingering affection for him into rage 12 14.
Later revelations expose the suffering she endured under Qian Duoxuan, who confined and controlled her 96. In a difficult meeting with her daughter Qian Ling'er, Bi Biyao acknowledges killing the man she says imprisoned her in a dark cell 98. Her relationship with Lin Chen also changes: after receiving a powerful diary reward, she resolves not to fall out with him, and later offers Soul Palace materials to support his soul-artifact forging in exchange for access to his Palace of the Soul 99 136.

Bi Biyao is described as beautiful, with expressive eyes, slender fingers and an imposing bearing as Pope. When moving through Heavenly Battle City without drawing attention, she wears a plain-looking hat 2 87 98.

The diary's revelations provoke both anger and self-examination. She wants to escape the future it describes, yet struggles with her past and with the distance between herself and Qian Ling'er 12 14 95 98. By the time she negotiates with Lin Chen, she is prepared to offer resources rather than try to seize control of him 136.
