Background and History

Ruan Mei agrees to help Dan Lei investigate the Chizuru Clan’s reproductive problem after meeting him at Herta Space Station. She accepts his gift of a cyan-crystal spatial ring and joins Herta in researching Tayzzyronth’s remains and the Power of Propagation 103 104. Her experiments produce dangerous, rapidly multiplying organisms, which Dan Lei helps contain 104.

When an experiment involving Tayzzyronth’s remains draws an attack from Polka-dot, Ruan Mei fights alongside Herta and Dan Lei 105. Later, Dan Lei proposes a century-long pact to pursue both researchers. Ruan Mei initially refuses because she expects his shorter life to end in loss for her, but she eventually participates 126 127.

Ruan Mei visits Dan Lei on Zhu Ming Xianzhou after learning that he can grant souls to organic and inorganic targets. There, she tells his sister Dan Zhu that they are romantically involved 178. She later brings two living planets and experimental creatures to help counter the Antimatter Legion near the Luofu 233 244 246.

Her subsequent work includes a Pure Beauty life-form created for Dan Lei to obtain its power, and a genetic enhancement made from a Star Forging Dragon King sample 329 452.

Personality

Ruan Mei is quiet and reserved in social situations, but becomes direct when discussing life and research. Her feelings for Dan Lei are intertwined with her fascination with his body and creation abilities; she openly describes both their relationship and the possibility of studying their future children 127 179.
