Background / History
Jing Yuan has served as the Luofu’s General for over seven hundred years. During his succession, the Luofu had recently endured the Xushu Rebellion; he later regarded his failure to manage his friends’ emotions after that war as a mistake he would not repeat. 477
He has commanded the Divine Lord for nearly eight hundred years, giving him exceptional control over its power. 232 Jingliu was once his sword instructor; according to her, when he failed to learn properly, she stopped relying on theory and beat him directly to make him experience his shortcomings. 217
Personality
Jing Yuan is observant, courteous, and deliberate. At his first formal meeting with Dan Lei, he assessed Dan Lei’s conduct and quickly concluded that he was not aligned with the hostile Dragon Master Council; he then personally invited him inside rather than making him wait. 41
As a commander, he is pragmatic enough to take serious risks and use difficult battlefield measures when necessary. He concealed himself within a formation to spring an ambush on Phantylia, used himself as bait against Xingxiao, and accepts that a general must sometimes choose the lesser of two evils. 227 230 257
Despite this, Jing Yuan is not humorless. He banters readily with Dan Lei, becomes visibly frustrated when Dan Lei disappears without notice, and has repeatedly expressed a desire to retire rather than continue carrying the Luofu’s workload. 227 275 459

Divine Lord
Jing Yuan can summon a colossal Divine Lord to fight on the Luofu’s behalf. 232
- Redirected the Divine Lord’s blade mid-attack to strike the escaping Phantylia after Dan Lei restrained her. 232

- Feixiao — Fellow Xianzhou General and battlefield ally. Jing Yuan coordinates with her during negotiations and assigns her to the assault force against Xingxiao. 82 257

Story Role / Major Arcs
Dan Lei’s Imprisonment Court Negotiation
Jing Yuan meets Dan Lei at the Imprisonment Court, assesses his independence from the Dragon Master Council, and negotiates the risks of his Memory Path. He proposes making Dan Lei an intern judge to monitor his memory retrieval, but Dan Lei refuses. Jing Yuan also reveals that Dan Lei unknowingly possesses the Path of Equilibrium. 41 42
Recognizing Dan Lei’s potential, Jing Yuan agrees to help him secure a Trial Entry Permit, confiscates the dangerous Light Cone Ghost King’s Malice, and allows Dan Lei to negotiate compensation in the form of a high-grade flying sword. 43

Phantylia’s Attack on the Luofu
During the crisis surrounding Jianmu and Phantylia, Jing Yuan works closely with Dan Lei to predict the enemy’s movements and prepare the Qiong Guan Restraining Evil Formation in the Crafting Department. 227
He remains hidden by the formation while Phantylia searches for him, then unveils the Divine Lord at the critical moment. When Phantylia attempts to flee, Jing Yuan redirects the Divine Lord’s blade to strike her after Dan Lei immobilizes her. 230 232
Xingxiao’s Siege
Jing Yuan appoints Dan Lei as the Luofu’s Deputy Commander-in-Chief before launching a surprise attack on Xingxiao’s fleet. The attack succeeds tactically but costs the Luofu many elite Cloud Knights and leaves Jing Yuan with Harmony-inflicted soul damage. 243 244
When Xingxiao launches her next offensive, Jing Yuan deliberately acts as bait while the Divine Lord devastates the Antimatter Legion. He assigns Dan Lei, Feixiao, Jingliu, and Blade as the assault force intended to reach Xingxiao before her mental attacks can overwhelm him. 257
After Xingxiao retreats, Jing Yuan publicly allows Dan Lei to serve as acting General while allegedly recuperating, though Dan Lei later discovers that he is less incapacitated than claimed and forces him to handle Alliance reports. 259
Avalon Star and Alliance Affairs
Jing Yuan assists Dan Lei by forwarding Avalon Star’s information to the Xianzhou Alliance, recognizing the political implications of a world created by an Immortal Dragon Descendant and blessed by Joy. 279 280
He also secretly sends Yukong and Luofu artisans to Avalon Star to assist its development, an act Dan Lei interprets as proof that Jing Yuan is looking out for him. 307
Later Luofu Affairs
Jing Yuan visits Dan Lei and Fu Xuan after learning that the Sustainer Clan may regain fertility, bringing gifts for Dan Lei’s children. 457
