Cai Lin was known only by the title Queen Medusa before Little Doctor Immortal gave her the name “Cai Lin.” The absence of a personal name reflects the constraints of her position and lack of personal freedom. Though initially irritated by Little Doctor Immortal’s delay, she feels an inexplicable closeness and peace in her presence. 145

She is the ruler of the Snake People Race, whose culture prioritizes strength and resilience above kinship, friendship, and gratitude. Cai Lin considers strong subjects and allies essential to her people’s survival in the Tagel Great Desert. 180
