Queen Medusa was born into the Snake People Clan's royal Medusa Bloodline. Through special nourishment beginning in the embryonic stage and her own powerful bloodline, she received the sixth-order Purple Nether Flame Snake as her Companion Soul at birth—an advantage far beyond that of ordinary Snake People. The companion carried a trace of ancient blood, granting her a possible path toward returning to the form of a Seven-Colored Sky-Swallowing Python. 2

Before Yan Lin's rise, Medusa ruled the Snake People Clan effectively enough that the Four Great Empires did not dare slight it. The Eight Great Commanders respected her rule and initially opposed creating a second king because they feared it would undermine her authority. 5

When the Four Great Elders proposed making Yan Lin the Saint King, Medusa accepted the decision despite recognizing the political danger of two rulers.
