"Sir?" the female elf called softly.

"Oh, are all the people in the garden guests of the inn?" Anse asked nonchalantly.

"Not all of them. Some are here for meals too—the first floor of the treehouse is the restaurant." A patient smile rested on the female elf's snow-cream-smooth face.

"Mm, two rooms, then. How much?" Anse decided to stay for now and keep an eye on Gais before considering his next move.

"Two gold coins per room per day. Water and breakfast are free, but payment is required in advance." The female elf waited for Anse's response with a beaming smile.

"That expensive?!" Anse stared in astonishment.

The price truly shocked him. Forget ordinary people—even typical Professionals could hardly afford to stay here.

The female elf pursed her lips, her eyes narrowing as though she were quite pleased by Anse's reaction. "Sir, Moon Shadow Kui Ling has always charged this price. We also serve authentic and delicious Moon Elf cuisine that you can't find anywhere else."

Brat quietly tugged at Anse's sleeve, shooting him meaningful looks over and over. They couldn't stay here—he would lie awake in bed, aching over the cost.

"We'll stay two days first." Anse gritted his teeth and placed a Platinum Coin on the counter.

These were unusual times. Other inns would surely hike up their prices, and might not even have vacant rooms. They might as well stay here for now, where he could keep an eye on Gais and make sure he didn't run off.

He still had over a hundred gold coins. Staying for a few weeks wouldn't be a problem.

"May I have your name, sir?" The female elf picked up a pen and looked at Anse. "Each room needs to be registered under one name. An alias is fine as well."
