Background / History
Ethan begins his Hogwarts career as a Ravenclaw first-year with an unusual magical-art system centered on reusable paintings and Artwork Cards. Before boarding the Hogwarts Express, he tests the White-rarity Broom Rash card on Draco Malfoy, then befriends Harry Potter and Ron Weasley over food in an otherwise empty train compartment. Harry is notably relieved that Ethan does not treat his scar or fame as a spectacle. 8
At Hogwarts, Ethan quickly establishes a reputation for unorthodox problem-solving. He forcibly opens the Ravenclaw common-room entrance with an artwork, withstands the resulting magical strain, and leaves the other students to solve the barrier themselves. He also seeks paid work, processing rat livers for Snape and organizing books for Madam Pince. 16 20
His early conflicts with Draco Malfoy make him both feared and respected among students. Ethan defeats Malfoy in a confrontation through a seemingly impossible long-range punch, forcing an apology and costing Slytherin points. 27
Ethan’s ambitions expand beyond school status. He publicly rejects an invitation to the Round Table Council, stating that he aims to conquer the world rather than merely enter the Ministry of Magic. He later founds the Enlightenment Lamp Society, presenting it as a group that will unite students against evil. 43 112
His relationship with Professor Quirrell becomes increasingly dangerous. Ethan pressures Quirrell into supplying materials for Living Paintings, studies Human Transfiguration and soul magic, and rapidly masters advanced techniques including memory extraction. 65 66 69 70
As Ethan’s power and influence grow, he becomes a prominent public figure. He exposes the Caro family’s corruption, receives 1,300 Galleons in Ministry compensation, appears on the front page of The Daily Prophet, and begins cultivating the Lamp’s influence over people inspired by his actions. 94 95
By later years, Ethan operates publicly and covertly as Mr. Lamp, builds an army of followers, subdues the Giant Tribe, commands werewolves, defeats Voldemort, and opposes the Death God’s remnants. After revealing his identity to the Ministry, he assumes control of the Wizarding World’s order and becomes Hogwarts’ new Headmaster. 223 327 334 318 410 411 431

However, Ethan also enjoys intimidation, manipulation, and elaborate performances. He exploits others’ assumptions, plays the victim to rally support, controls prisoners during the Azkaban riot, and frequently frames destructive actions as benevolent or artistic. 146 274 381
