This was indeed an unexpected delight.
Harry found Nick much more pleasing to the eye now. It seemed he understood the basic principles of how to behave.
The file showed that Richard Parker and Mary Parker—Peter Parker's biological parents—were a pair of exceptionally talented biologist and botanist.
Their primary field was cancer treatment. Richard Parker had ultimately created a biological organism capable of "repairing" a patient's body, a development of epoch-making significance.
Early in the research, Norman Osborn had noticed Richard Parker and decided to provide funding. It was Under Osborn's Sponsorship that Richard created this organism.
At this point, Harry's expression turned strange.
This so-called "organism" wasn't that mutant spider. In other words, the Parkers had taken Osborn's money, completed their research, and refused to show it to their investor?
Seeing Harry's expression, Nick explained:
"After creating the organism, they discovered that the technology could affect more than just animals—it could even be used on the human body. It was dangerous, but useful—in military applications."
Hearing that, Harry shot Nick a glance. You might as well not have said anything. Doesn't that practically spell out that Osborn definitely wouldn't use this technology for anything good?
Nick merely shrugged thick-skinnedly. That was exactly what he thought. And considering Norman's previous condition, it wasn't impossible.
"Actually, their concerns weren't entirely unfounded. Keep reading," Nick said.
Before long, a group of strange men in black came knocking, wanting the Parker Couple to sell them the technology. But the Parkers felt that they were not good people.
That was when S.H.I.E.L.D. entered the picture—they promised to protect the Parker Couple and not abuse the technology.
The Parker Couple felt that S.H.I.E.L.D. was trustworthy! At the same time, not wanting to drag Osborn into it, they quietly boarded a plane bound for Los Angeles.
