This masked youth was naturally Lu Yifang. He had picked up the mask on a whim earlier; who had dropped it in the chaos was anyone's guess.
Lu Yifang wasn't foolish. There were clearly no shortage of surveillance cameras here. Though he wanted to save people, he wasn't yet ready to expose his face to the world's gaze.
When he spotted Director Emma hiding in a corner, he breathed a sigh of relief. He had made it in time.
Just as a heavy stone lifted from Lu Yifang's heart, Hulk was utterly bewildered. Though his mind wasn't the sharpest, he was well aware of his own strength. In his perception, these buildings had always felt no different from Styrofoam, and ordinary people were like paper dolls.
Yet this kid before him clearly seemed like the type of ordinary person you could poke two holes through with a single finger—but his hand had been caught. One ordinary, slender arm stood in stark contrast to the other green arm thicker than a thigh, yet Hulk felt that hand was a hundred times harder than refined steel.
Hulk instinctively struggled, but the hand didn't budge an inch. His immense power vanished like a mud ox sinking into the sea, unable to affect it at all.
"Roar!" Hulk let out a low growl and punched at the black-haired youth before him. Lu Yifang's actions were clearly seen as a provocation.
Then his fist, the size of a casserole pot, was caught—by a hand that, even when fully spread, was smaller than his fist.
Hulk's strength was certainly immense, but as long as Lu Yifang adjusted the vectors—for instance, redirecting Hulk's force downward, or splitting it into several parts with directions set to up, down, left, and right—the power that should have struck him became four conflicting forces that canceled each other out.
"Hulk, die!" While Hulk was being held by Lu Yifang like a chick (no mistake), the Abomination had already charged over.
In the Abomination's eyes, only Hulk existed. As for Lu Yifang, what the hell was that? An accessory?
Just an ordinary human. The Abomination didn't give him a second thought. He didn't care what Hulk was doing with this ordinary guy. His underdeveloped brain could only hold the simple idea of tearing Hulk apart, and now he felt he was about to succeed.
Seeing the Abomination already upon them, Hulk panicked, struggling desperately to free his hand. Even the concrete beneath his feet cracked from the effort, yet Lu Yifang's fingers didn't move an inch.
But just as Hulk was getting frantic, Lu Yifang suddenly spoke to him.
"Ready?"
Hulk: "???"
While Hulk was utterly baffled, he suddenly felt an irresistible force yank him up. Lu Yifang grabbed Hulk with both hands, and facing the Abomination now less than three meters away, he suddenly spun Hulk around a full 360 degrees.
"True Hulk Slash!" Lu Yifang growled, using Hulk as a weapon.
"Boom!" A deafening sonic boom erupted. The very air seemed to twist, and Lu Yifang vaguely heard the crisp sound of bones shattering. The Abomination was sent flying a hundred meters, plowing through a row of cars before carving a deep trench across the street.
"Ptoo!" Crawling out of the rubble with difficulty, the Abomination tried to stand but stumbled and fell, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He had clearly sustained internal injuries.
Given the Abomination's body hardness, even if you smashed him with a tank, he'd treat it like a free massage. But unfortunately, Lu Yifang used Hulk—a "weapon" even tougher than him.
"Hey, you okay?" Lu Yifang glanced at Hulk lying on the ground. Though the Abomination had taken a serious hit, Hulk seemed dazed too.
That saved Lu Yifang some trouble. Easily dragging Hulk, he began pulling him out of Howard Orphanage.
"Yifang, is that you?" At that moment, Ms. Emma's voice came through.
Though Lu Yifang wore a mask, after so many years together, how could Director Emma not recognize his silhouette and voice? If not for how utterly unbelievable Lu Yifang's actions were, she probably wouldn't have even used a questioning tone.
Hearing this, Lu Yifang paused, turned to look at Director Emma, and nodded slightly. "It's me, Ms. Emma."
"I'll handle these two. Go check if anyone else is hurt."
"Alright, I understand." Director Emma quickly nodded.
Though she was puzzled about why Lu Yifang had become like something out of a Superman comic, she knew this wasn't the time to think about it. The children's safety came first.
"Roar!" When Lu Yifang dragged the Green Giant out of Howard Orphanage, the dazed Green Giant finally came to. The first thing he did was punch Lu Yifang in the face.
"Hey hey, big guy, take a good look. We're on the same side. That one over there is our common enemy." Lu Yifang easily caught Hulk's fist, pointing at the Abomination not far away.
Hearing this, Hulk glanced at the recovered Abomination. After gritting his teeth, he finally let his fist go. Compared to Lu Yifang, the Abomination was practically a taunt magnet, drawing aggro like crazy.
Noticing Hulk's gaze, the Abomination scrambled up. His recovery wasn't much worse than Hulk's, and he had already regained a lot of strength.
"Hulk!" The Abomination roared, charging at Hulk again. Hulk clenched his fists, ready to meet him, but Lu Yifang reached out and stopped him.
"Let me handle it." These two big guys crashing into each other caused too much destruction. If they accidentally smashed back into the orphanage, that wasn't something Lu Yifang wanted to see.
Lu Yifang stepped ahead of Hulk, facing the Abomination now right in front of him. He suddenly reached out, grabbed the Abomination's arm, hoisted him over his shoulder in an instant, and slammed him into the ground.
"Boom!" The ground collapsed on the spot, forming a crater over ten meters wide with cracks spreading outward.
Shoulder Throw—a technique Lu Yifang had learned from the White Queen. It was just a superficial imitation; he had no idea about the force-redirection principles behind it. But he didn't need to. By manipulating vectors, he could completely convert the Abomination's charging force into destructive power smashing into the ground.
By then, Hulk had snapped out of it. He immediately grabbed a nearby car and charged over, smashing it repeatedly into the Abomination's face.
But even after Hulk had battered the car into scrap, it only managed to stuff a few teeth-grinding parts into the Abomination's mouth.
"This guy's body is too tough. Hitting him with a car isn't much different from using a pneumatic hammer." Lu Yifang shook his head, then suddenly turned his gaze back to Hulk.
"How about I try you out?" He had to admit, the Green Giant was a handy weapon—sturdy, durable, wide-area damage, with self-repair and a roar that intimidated enemies. That last swing had felt damn satisfying.
Seeing the eager look in Lu Yifang's eyes, Hulk's lips curled in disdain, and he raised his hand to flip him off.
