The Pacifistas slaughtered at will. The finished models lived up to Vegapunk's claims all those years ago: even ordinary pirates with bounties over a hundred million stood no chance against them, let alone civilians.
That was also why Kaido had been willing to back down and retreat.
If he kept fighting, he and Ron would have to settle things to the death. Yet Oric had made no move beyond deploying the Pacifistas. He was plainly sitting back to watch them tear each other apart.

A searing bolt of lightning tore through a smoke-filled street. A Pacifista in the midst of a slaughter froze where it stood, then toppled to the ground.
Its entire upper body, from the waist up, had vanished in the lightning.
By the corner of a wall, an official who had thought his end had come stared in astonishment. Life gradually returned to his eyes.
He gulped down air. Then he spotted Ron at the end of the street, and his anger flared.

He roared in fury.

Thinking he had found Ron's weak spot, the official shrieked, "Innocent people of the Holy Land died, and you let the man responsible walk away! I'm telling you, the Marines' good days are over!"
Beside Ron, Kong's face darkened. He clenched his fists.
