Yulian still felt exhausted. This was the first time since awakening his magic that he had felt so tired.
The inside of his right wrist felt hot and prickly. He lowered his head to look, but there was nothing unusual. Could it still be a lingering effect of the viral infection? He should get more rest.
So he closed his eyes, but his consciousness slowly sank into the Magic Resonance Library of its own accord.
Murphy was sprawled atop a bookshelf, its tail swishing irritably back and forth.
When it saw Yulian appear, it raised its head. Rare seriousness flickered in its amber and silver-gray heterochromatic eyes. It then glanced toward the deepest part of the library without saying anything.
Yulian followed its gaze.
At the very back of the library, the bronze door that had always remained tightly shut was now emitting the faintest hum. The chains on the door trembled slightly, as if something were pounding against the other side.
A dim blue light seeped through the gap beneath the door, yet it seemed to be suppressed by some force and could not truly open.
"That door..." Yulian spoke first. "You always say it's not time to open it yet. What's inside?"
"A book, a secret, the source of the Black bloodline, the origin of the entire Magical World."
"You're making it sound awfully important. Will I even get to open it in my lifetime?"
Murphy shook its head slightly, as if sighing.
"By the way, you should know that a classmate just gave me a map. The marked locations on it seem to include more than just Magic Nodes."
"You think Magic Nodes are the only magical places?" Murphy humanely showed a little of the whites of its eyes.
