Yulian felt a chill run down his spine at Evanna's words.
"Do you know what this place is?" the ghost suddenly asked.
"Starfall Bay?"
"Yes."
"Do you know why it's called Starfall Bay?"
"Did a star really fall here?"
"It did," said the ghost named Evanna, nodding. "Legend has it that a star from beyond the heavens crashed here a very, very long time ago. It brought an abundance of magic to this place, and tore a wound in this world."
"At first, wizards discovered that magic was many times more powerful here, so they flocked to the area, built this city, and studied magic together."
"What happened after that?" Yulian knew how to keep a conversation going.
"Later, for reasons unknown, it was said that many of the wizards here became particularly fond of studying Dark Magic. They lost their minds and even attacked one another. Gradually, most of the wizards left, and the place fell into ruin. All that remained was the legend of Starfall Bay, carried on the winds across the continent."
"By the time Pyxis and I found this place, it had already sunk beneath the sea. But even so, it's still full of wonders, isn't it?"
"Yes. At least, wizards in my time couldn't do anything like this." Yulian gazed up at the sea and sighed.
"We suspect that the strange behavior of the wizards here was still connected to the leakage of energy from another world."
"So the star that fell from the sky was a double-edged sword," Yulian said.
"Clever," the ghost Evanna praised.
"So you sealed this place?"
