Daz Bones' fingers sprouted blade-like metal as he charged at Rono. Rono took a deep breath, activated Scarlet Armament, and roared, meeting Daz Bones head-on.
Clang! The piercing sound of metal striking metal didn't affect the two. Clang, clang, clang! No matter where Rono's hardened Bone Claws struck Daz Bones, they produced the sound of metal colliding. "Damn it, isn't this cheating?" Rono thought bitterly. He had to say it aloud, "Hey, why are you like steel? Is this your Devil Fruit Ability?"
Daz Bones was clearly slow-witted. He nodded bluntly, "That's right. I'm a Blade Person, my whole body is made of blades. What's your Devil Fruit? It can affect my blades without any impact. Not bad."
"My Devil Fruit Ability?" Rono had barely finished speaking when bang! his head shattered like a watermelon. He fell to the ground with a thud.
Daz Bones: "..." Sairona: "..." Although he was displeased, as a killer, completing the mission was paramount. He stopped looking at Rono and turned to walk behind the sofa where Sairona was hiding.
Sairona scrambled out of the tavern, a Revolver in his hand still smoking.
Daz Bones followed closely, smashing through obstacles directly. He gradually caught up to Sairona. Sairona rolled, simultaneously firing his Revolver repeatedly. Ping, pong! The sounds were ear-piercing. Daz Bones was hit by a massive kinetic impact, stumbling a couple of steps and allowing Sairona to widen the distance. Sairona was now running into Alabasta. He couldn't get on a ship; who knew what backup Deng had arranged. Perhaps Haddaway was also involved...
Bullets were rapidly loaded into the magazine. Sairona took down a few low-level thugs who hadn't fled far and were trying to pick up scraps. With three shots fired in a triangular pattern, he hit Daz Bones. Relieving the pressure of the pursuit, Sairona inwardly lamented, "Only 6 bullets left. Damn it, if only I'd brought a Sniper Rifle... Right!" Sairona thought of something, turned a ninety-degree corner, and ran towards a tall building.
Inside the tavern, Rono touched his newly regenerated head. Hmm, still as handsome as ever.
"Really, I didn't even get to introduce myself. You were in such a hurry to kill me?"
Rono's Scarlet Armament had deactivated the moment he was shot. Rono couldn't afford to recover his breath and stumbled out of the tavern, leaning on the doorframe. There wasn't a soul in the surrounding streets. It seemed everyone had gone to seek refuge. Well, Rono was one of the reasons for that refuge.
Scarlet Armament plus regenerating his head had consumed a large amount of Rono's stamina. So, Rono "borrowed" some food from the Tavern Owner. He ate as he hurried on his way.
Sairona's gunshots served as excellent markers. Rono easily kept pace.
The scene shifted to Sairona.
Sairona was already climbing the tall building, where his Sniper Rifle was. However, the situation was not optimistic; his stamina was running low. Daz Bones was only a few steps away. Sairona had also discarded his Revolver to reduce weight. Sairona practically crawled up to the attic. A corpse lay there – it was Deng. The moment Deng fired, Sairona also fired. Due to the extreme speed of their actions, the two gunshots overlapped, sounding like only one.
Sairona rolled again, bent down, picked up the Sniper Rifle beside Deng, and fired back, "Bang!"
However, Sairona's movements were too obvious. Daz Bones was prepared and dodged Sairona's final desperate move with a sidestep.
"I'm surprised you managed to Counter Kill this person. However, this is about the end for you!"
Daz Bones raised his right hand and sliced Sairona's Sniper Rifle in half. He felt uneasy with the gun in Sairona's hand.
The next move would be the final blow. He raised his right hand high and brought it down fiercely. If this strike landed, Sairona would surely die.
"Aaaah!!!" A shirtless, red-haired youth burst through the window, shouting as he tackled Daz Bones to the ground. That blade strike ultimately didn't land.
"Round two, begins." Rono shook off the glass shards on his body and grinned at Sairona, "Surprised?"
"Surprised? I'm f***ing terrified." Sairona replied in his usual flat tone.
Rono didn't waste any more time chatting with Sairona. He activated Scarlet Armament, preparing for another 1v1 with Daz. "I wasn't satisfied just now," Rono said to Daz, brushing off some skin flakes from his body.
Daz remained silent. Rono's appearance, when he should have been dead, clearly put him under immense pressure.
Daz assumed a fighting stance, his Devil Fruit Ability fully unleashed, his skin faintly emitting a cold sheen.
Rono's right leg muscles bulged. The next moment, he appeared behind Daz, his right claw stabbing towards Daz's back.
A string of sparks flew. Rono missed but immediately followed up with another attack. "Knee Strike · Explosive Bullet!" The stone slab beneath Rono's feet shattered from the recoil, and a mist of blood erupted from Rono's calf muscles.
BOOM~~
Daz crashed through the wall, flying out of the attic.
"Gah!" Daz spat out a mouthful of black blood. He'd been breached.
Daz crawled out of the rubble, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. Damn it, was that kid a Monster?
Rono's knee strike came with bone spur attacks. But Daz didn't dare pull out the bone spurs from his abdomen; he'd bleed to death and GG.
Rono shielded his eyes with his hand, scanning for a moment before spotting Daz.
"Sigh, I knew I shouldn't have used so much strength. How can I catch up now?" Sairona, whose expression was as unchanging as ever, was dumbfounded. He knew Rono's close-combat output was explosive, but he hadn't expected it to be this terrifying.
"If I had a Sniper Rifle, no, just a gun, today would have been his death day," Sairona said resentfully, watching Daz flee.
"!" Rono couldn't bother with anything else. He blocked Sairona's path alone. BANG~ A large hole appeared in Rono's abdomen, splattering Sairona behind him with gore.
Enduring the urge to vomit from his churning stomach, he quickly scrambled to a blind spot. "Northwest, projectile diameter 3.2cm, it should be a KT--741."
Rono quickly ran over too. While he wouldn't die, it hurt.
"We have to go, Rono. This is someone else's territory, we're at too much of a disadvantage," Sairona analyzed calmly.
However, "What are you chickening out for? Let's go fuck him up!" Rono retracted his Scarlet Armament and said fiercely. Damn it, if he backed down after being challenged like this, how could he ever gain respect on the streets?
"..." Sairona fell silent. After about a minute, he sighed and said, "My life was saved by you. What's wrong with going crazy with you one more time!" Sairona was a Sniper with extraordinary talent, a genius-level figure, otherwise, he wouldn't have been recruited by the Gongdongtalio Family. Geniuses always had a certain pride, and now Sairona's pride had been ignited.
"I need a gun," Sairona said, looking Rono in the eyes.
"Easy peasy."
