Pakura took Sara out of the underground ruins, only to see yellow sand and flying stones filling the sky.
Sara was greatly shocked. "It's a sandstorm!"
It was not merely a sandstorm, but an unprecedented one.
Yellow sand rolled in from the horizon, and the entire city of Roran was instantly swallowed by murky yellow fog.
The gale swept sand and gravel through the air, battering buildings and towers with ferocious force. Visibility was less than a few meters. The high-rises were hidden behind a dull yellow curtain of sand, their familiar outlines gone.
The wind howled through the streets and alleys. Prosperous Roran was instantly wrapped layer upon layer in yellow sand, its clamor buried beneath the wind and dust, leaving only a vast, chaotic desolation.
Sara and Pakura stood atop a tower.
Sara looked at the city ravaged by the sandstorm, her heart aching. "How could this happen? Roran hasn't suffered a sandstorm in a long time, much less one this huge!"
Six years ago, Roran had still been a small desert town. After Mukade—also known as Anrokuzan—came to Roran, he suggested that Sara's mother, the previous Queen of Roran, unseal the Dragon Vein.
Using the Dragon Vein's power, Roran rapidly grew strong, creating many puppets and building numerous towers.
Ordinary sandstorms could not even penetrate the outer towers, yet this world-destroying sandstorm delivered an immense visual shock.
It was as though the entire city of Roran was about to be buried beneath the wind and sand.
Pakura watched the sandstorm that seemed ready to lift all of Roran into the air, her expression grave. "A sandstorm like this could probably only be summoned by Sand Incarnation—Shukaku."
"Shukaku?!"
Sara was somewhat frightened. As a desert dweller, she naturally knew the fearsome reputation of Sand Incarnation Shukaku.
