Caught in a Trap?

When the first rays of sunlight appeared on the horizon, Ling Chu woke up right on time.

The morning light over the Gobi still carried the chill of the night. Ling Chu sat up, rolled her shoulders and neck, crushed the campfire ashes and charcoal beneath her boots, then covered them with another layer of sand.

She then opened the map.

Two Treasure Chest icons had refreshed on the map. One green icon resembling a humanoid passage was probably the extraction point.

One of the Treasure Chests was far away. After estimating the travel time, she realized it would be dark even if she hurried there.

The other Treasure Chest, however, was closer to the extraction point and roughly the same distance from her.

Ling Chu raised a hand and tapped the nearer Treasure Chest marker on the map, leaving a simple mark before folding the map and putting it back into her Soulstone Pouch.

She only had four Soulstones on her. Extracting early would not get her anything worthwhile.

There was a Treasure Chest. She had to take it.

Ling Chu put away the map and immediately set off toward the Treasure Chest.

After a night of rest, Ling Chu had recovered her energy. However, wounds
