Fei Ye jerked her head aside.

The Blade of White Bones grazed her neck and sank deep into the tree trunk behind her.

A trickle of blood ran from the wound.

The cut was shallow, but it showed no sign of healing. Instead, blood kept seeping out whenever she moved.

Fei Ye recognized at once that this was no ordinary dagger.

She released her staff with her right hand, swiftly drew the short blade at her waist, and slashed across Ling Chu's wrist.

Ling Chu pulled the Blade of White Bones free and stepped half a pace back.

The two short blades collided in midair.

The crisp clang of metal was swallowed by the roar of the waterfall.

Fei Ye was weaker than Ling Chu, but her knife work was nimble. She thrust several times in succession, each strike aimed straight at Ling Chu's eyes, neck, or heart.

Ling Chu blocked them all.
