Temptation and Ambush

The jackalman squad advancing through the wilderness was led by one called Suihou Blood Axe.

Suihou was a name he had chosen for himself, meaning to bite through an enemy's throat.

Blood Axe was the name of the tribe, and also the shared surname of all jackalmen in the tribe.

Early this morning, he had received a task from the Tribe Leader: lead a squad southeast to search for traces of a human tribe.

Humans to the southeast?

He only remembered that three tribesmen had been sent to scout that direction a few days ago and never returned.

Everyone in the tribe guessed there was a fierce beast in that direction.

He wasn't afraid of the rumor.

They were powerful jackalman warriors!

What beast could stand against over a dozen jackalman warriors?

So, he led twelve tribal warriors and set off without hesitation.

If it was a beast, they would hunt it down and bring it back to the tribe.

Just like the Unicorn Saber-toothed Tiger he had led the squad to hunt a few days ago.

If there really was a human tribe...

As the jackalmen and players chased and fled, they weaved through the wilderness.

A level 2 player, even if not of the Agility Class, had 7 Agility attribute points.

The jackalmen's Agility was around 8 points. Without running on all fours, they were only slightly faster than the players.

Coupled with the heavy Wolf Tooth Clubs they carried, their speed under the load dropped almost to the players' level.

A few minutes later, the four players had fled three or four li, but the jackalmen behind them hadn't closed the gap much.

The distance between them was still nearly two hundred meters!

Suihou wasn't in a hurry. Killing these humans was only one goal; the other was to find their settlement.

He was more than happy to let these players run all the way back to their tribe and reveal its location to him.

The jackalmen pursued unhurriedly. Up ahead, Da Qing and the other three could barely hide their smiles.

The valley entrance had come into view, only a few hundred meters away!

"There are only two human tribes in the eastern part of the island. One is the Baimu Tribe to the north, and the other is the Ying Clan Tribe we attacked a few days ago."

"The Baimu Tribe is up north; they're unlikely to be here. The ones hiding in the valley are most likely the survivors from the Ying Clan Tribe who fled."

The Jackalman behind him pressed on.

Suihou gazed at the valley, thinking for a few seconds.

"You have a point. Alright, Suiya, Suishou, Suijiao..."

Suihou named seven Jackalmen.

"You seven go into the valley first and check for an ambush. The rest of us will wait at the entrance. Once we confirm there's no trap, we'll go in."

"If there is an ambush, we'll charge in from behind and catch them in a pincer attack with you."

He added after a moment.

But one thing he didn't say.

If the ambush was too big, they just wouldn't go in.

They'd head back, report to the Tribe Leader, and bring people back to avenge them!

"Huff, huff, this is killing me!"

"Good thing the valley wasn't far. If I had to run any further, I'd be done for."

After Three Rounds of Drinks and his group ran into the valley, they met up with Lin Feng and the others, bending over with hands on their knees, gasping for air.
