Sun Wukong was furious. He took out the Golden Cudgel and cursed at the other monkey, "Where did you come from, you monster? How dare you take the form of your Grandpa Sun? You must be tired of living."
But the other Sun Wukong didn't answer. He, too, took out a Golden Cudgel, rose to his feet, and began fighting Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong soon realized that the monkey's moves were exactly the same as his own. For a while, the two fought to a standstill, neither able to gain the upper hand.
Seeing that Sand Monk couldn't get a chance to help, Sun Wukong turned his head during a lull in the fighting and said to him, "Junior Brother, go back and tell Master what's happening here. I'll lead him to where Ye Chen is."
Sun Wukong kept fighting as he made his way to Mount Luojia. There, he explained the situation to Ye Chen and asked him to determine which one was real.
Ye Chen saw that they looked exactly alike and moved without the slightest difference. He couldn't tell them apart, so he decided to wait until Tang Sanzang and the others arrived before making a decision.
Meanwhile, Sand Monk found Tang Sanzang and explained what had happened. Realizing he had wronged Sun Wukong, Tang Sanzang hurriedly told Sand Monk to lead him to Sun Wukong.
When Tang Sanzang arrived, Ye Chen explained the situation and asked him to recite the Tight Fillet spell to see how the two reacted. Tang Sanzang agreed.
Ye Chen then said to Bajie and Sand Monk, "Each of you, secretly grab hold of one of them while Tang Sanzang recites the Tight Fillet spell without their knowledge."
Tang Sanzang secretly recited the spell. Both of them cried out that their heads
