"With 600 Points left, what should I exchange them for?" Chen asked the system as he looked at his remaining Points.
"The Host can exchange them for a One-Tomoe Sharingan," the system recommended.
"The Sharingan? Do I have enough Points to exchange for it?" Chen was somewhat tempted. After all, the earlier one mastered the Sharingan, the better.
"One-Tomoe Sharingan. Item Rank: C. Exchange Cost: 500 Points."
"Two-Tomoe Sharingan. Item Rank: B. Exchange Cost: 2,000 Points."
"Three-Tomoe Sharingan. Item Rank: A. Exchange Cost: 5,000 Points."
The system listed the prices for the One-Tomoe through Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
"The One-Tomoe Sharingan costs 500 Points? I only have 600 Points. How can I exchange for it?" Chen asked the system. He knew it would not make such a suggestion without reason.
"500 Points is only the exchange price. Since the Host is a member of the Uchiha Clan, there is no need to exchange for it. You only need to spend 100 Points to activate the One-Tomoe Sharingan," the system explained.
I see. The system's pretty generous! Chen thought to himself. I originally planned to awaken it myself, but forget it. Who knows how long I'd have to wait if I wanted to awaken it on my own? Even a genius like Sasuke Uchiha only awakened his Sharingan after he was seven, during his battle with Yuki Haku to protect Naruto. As the Uchiha's Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan is best mastered as early as possible.
Having read the story, Chen knew that the Sharingan, one of the most talked-about Kekkei Genkai in the Hokage anime, had unquestionable abilities and potential. It might not have been the strongest, but it was definitely among the most promising.
"System, activate my Sharingan," Chen ordered.
"Activating the Sharingan requires 100 Points. This exchange is limited to members of the Uchiha Clan. Confirm exchange?"
"Exchange!"
" Ding! Exchange successful. Points deducted: 100. Remaining Points: 500."
Another damn warm current surged from within Chen's body into his eyes, and both eyes grew hot. Chen quickly shut them. The burning sensation lasted for about a minute before gradually subsiding.
Chen slowly opened his eyes. They had changed—the irises had turned blood-red, with a single tomoe slowly rotating within each. It was the Sharingan.
However, the students in the Classroom were all deeply engrossed in the Konoha Chronicles Iruka was recounting from the podium. No one noticed anything unusual about Chen.
So this is the Sharingan? Other than my vision getting better, it doesn't feel particularly special. Chen thought. Forget it. I'll deactivate it for now and study it properly once I get home. I can't let anyone discover it. With that thought, Chen hurriedly deactivated his Sharingan.
"Yawn... This class is so boring. I'll take a nap." Chen yawned, then lay down on his desk and went to sleep. He had no interest whatsoever in the Konoha Chronicles Iruka was talking about.
"Chen, wake up. School's over."
Chen had no idea how long he had slept when he suddenly felt someone shaking him. He slowly woke up, opened his eyes, and saw that it was Ino.
"Ino, what's wrong?" Chen asked groggily.
"Get up already. School's over," Ino said helplessly. "You really can sleep. You actually slept until school ended. Seriously."
"Huh? School's over already? That fast?" Chen looked around and saw that his classmates were packing up their things. Looking toward the podium, Iruka was indeed gone.
"Since school's over, I'll head home first. See you tomorrow, Ino." Chen stood up, stretched, and smiled at her.
"Hehe, see you tomorrow, Chen-kun." Ino smiled in reply. As the two happily said goodbye, neither noticed the pair of furious eyes glaring at Chen from nearby.
It was Taichi the Idiot.
"Uchiha Chen, stop right there!" Chen had only taken a few steps toward the Classroom door when an angry shout came from behind him. He stopped and turned around in confusion.
"What is it?" Chen asked Taichi the Idiot calmly.
"Bastard, I already told you I'd make you regret it." Taichi the Idiot gritted his teeth and glared at Chen.
"Oh? And what are you planning to do?" Chen studied Taichi the Idiot with interest. Their exchange made the students who had been about to leave the Classroom stop in their tracks.
"Ah, are they going to fight?" Kiba Inuzuka said as he watched them, clearly eager for trouble. "Awesome, we've got a show!" Naruto also shouted from the side, fanning the flames.
"Taichi the Idiot, what are you trying to do?" Ino shouted anxiously.
"Ino is going to be my bride! I won't allow you to talk to her! Uchiha Chen, I challenge you to a duel!" Taichi the Idiot ignored Ino and yelled provocatively at Chen.
"Taichi the Idiot, what nonsense are you talking about? I'm not your bride!" Ino shouted angrily before turning to Chen. "Chen, don't mind him. He's crazy. Let's go."
"Oh my, is the Uchiha genius going to hide behind a girl? What a coward! Hahaha!" "Yeah! Yeah!" There was no need to guess—only Kiba Inuzuka and Naruto Uzumaki, those two idiots who loved stirring up trouble, would use such arrogant tones.
"What? Are you scared? Aren't you Uchiha supposed to be geniuses? Why don't you dare duel me?" Taichi the Idiot mocked Chen.
"How dare you insult the Uchiha! You're asking to die!" Sasuke, who could not stand anyone insulting the Uchiha, stepped forward and charged at Taichi the Idiot. He had often trained with Itachi in the past. Though he had yet to refine Chakra, his taijutsu was far better than that of ordinary children, so he was not afraid of Taichi the Idiot despite the boy's larger build.
But just as Sasuke was about to rush at Taichi the Idiot, Chen reached out and stopped him.
"What are you doing? If you don't dare to fight, I will. Move aside," Sasuke said to Chen unhappily.
"That's my business. I don't need you meddling," Chen replied coldly.
"Hmph! You two can come at me together. I don't mind if you outnumber me," Taichi the Idiot said disdainfully to Sasuke and Chen.
"Idiot. I don't need help to deal with trash like you," Chen said expressionlessly.
"You're asking to die!" Taichi the Idiot yelled as he charged at Chen, raising his fist and swinging it at Chen's head.
"Ah! Chen-kun, watch out!" Ino cried anxiously. "Chen-kun, get out of the way!" Ino, standing among the crowd, could not help calling out a warning as well. Several girls in the class had already shut their eyes in fright, unable to watch.
"Die!" Just as Taichi the Idiot's fist was about to strike Chen's head, Chen moved. With a raise of his right hand, he caught Taichi the Idiot's fierce punch in his palm. No matter how hard Taichi the Idiot struggled, he could not pull his fist free.
Ever since Chen had learned three years ago that this was the world of Hokage, he had constantly trained himself. He knew this world was too dangerous; one careless mistake could get him Killed for no reason at all. So Chen had never slacked off over the past three years, training every day without fail. His Physical Quality had long since left ordinary children like these far behind.
"Trash. Too weak," Chen sneered at Taichi the Idiot. Then he yanked hard with his right hand, brutally dragging Taichi the Idiot right in front of him. Chen drove his knee into Taichi's stomach. Taichi immediately doubled over in agony, clutching his stomach with both hands and groaning in pain. Chen then kicked Taichi the Idiot, who was bent over, sending him straight to the ground. Though it looked like a series of moves, only a few seconds had passed.
"Tch. Worthless trash." Chen looked disdainfully at Taichi the Idiot on the ground, then turned to leave.
Taichi the Idiot gritted his teeth and got back to his feet, then charged at Chen again, his fist once more smashing toward Chen's head. Chen tilted his head aside, dodging Taichi's punch. Before anyone could react, he spun around and seized Taichi by the throat with his left hand. "You're asking for death!" Chen shouted. Then he exerted force and hurled Taichi to the ground, concentrating all the strength in his body into the index finger of his right hand. Finger Gun activated, and he drove it down at the floor beside Taichi's head... All his movements flowed together in one seamless motion.
Squelch! His finger sank in at once, the entire digit piercing straight into the floor. Taichi the Idiot was so terrified that he did not dare move an inch.
The others were completely stunned. "Th-this..." Kiba's face no longer held its earlier arrogant expression. All that remained was shock and fear.
"Th-this actually pierced through the floor... If that hit someone..." Just thinking about it sent a chill down even Naruto's spine, despite his usual fearlessness.
"Damn it, how can this be? How can this guy be so strong? I've clearly trained with Itachi-niisan, while this guy only runs off to play every day. Why is he still this strong?" Sasuke clenched his fists, thinking unwillingly.
"Wow! That was amazing!" "He's so strong! Is this the Uchiha genius? He's incredible!" After recovering from their shock, the others looked at Chen with admiration. The female students, in particular, screamed like lovestruck fools. "Chen-kun is so handsome!" "Chen-kun is amazing, so strong, I love him so much!" "Chen-kun, I'll have your babies!" Even Sakura and Ino were no exception.
"Geez, geeze... Handsome guys really are popular with women," Shikamaru complained helplessly from the side.
"Tch!" Chen pulled his finger from the floor, got to his feet, then turned and walked out through the Classroom door.
