Background

Sasuke was born into the Uchiha clan as Uchiha Chen's twin and Itachi's younger brother. He entered the Ninja Academy at age six alongside Chen, but Chen's superior reputation and the extra attention Chen received at home fostered Sasuke's jealousy and resentment. He regarded the Uchiha as Konoha's strongest clan and initially looked down on anyone outside it. 4 7 9

The Uchiha clan extermination shattered his life. Itachi forced Sasuke to witness the massacre through Tsukuyomi, declared himself responsible, and told him to live in hatred until he acquired sufficient power for revenge.
