"What do we do?" Uchiha Chen sneered, his eyes sharp with intent. In a chilling tone, he said, "They're all like vampires. We have to beat them into submission before they can feel real pain and understand that peace is hard-won!"

Konan opened her mouth, then hesitated. Wasn't Uchiha Chen's approach no different from the Akatsuki Organization's old methods? Hadn't Nagato brought suffering to the Ninja World so that people would understand how hard-won peace was?

After a moment's hesitation, Konan couldn't help wanting to speak.

"Are you going to say that what we're doing now is no different from what the Akatsuki Organization used to do?"

Uchiha Chen seemed to have guessed what Konan wanted to say. He spoke in an even tone.

Konan nodded reluctantly. "Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to say. After all, what we're doing now is no different from what the Akatsuki Organization used to do. It's been proven that this approach doesn't work. Otherwise, we wouldn't have failed."

"No." Uchiha Chen chuckled. "You don't understand. This approach does work!"

The Akatsuki Organization's approach had been sound to a certain extent. Without Naruto Uzumaki's talk-no-jutsu and Sasuke Uchiha, their methods would have been completely right.

But although the Akatsuki Organization had gathered many S-Class Rogue Ninjas, each had joined for their own reasons. None of them worked toward the organization's ultimate goal.
