An Unexpected Person

"I was careless!" Sasuke panted heavily inside the energy crystal on Susanoo's forehead, thinking to himself.

Sasuke had been far too overconfident. He'd wanted to conserve some Chakra and hold out until Naruto woke up, but he hadn't expected to suffer a setback right from the start. He'd nearly been captured by Kaguya.

Fortunately, Sasuke had reacted in time and summoned Susanoo. Otherwise, he might well have ended up like Naruto, defeated by Kaguya.

Seeing Sasuke in such a sorry state, Kaguya smiled. After being sealed for thousands of years, now that she'd been revived, only two emotions remained in her: pure love and pure hatred.

She'd always faced them with a complicated mixture of love and hate. The love came from the purest feelings in her heart: her love for her people.

The hatred came from the fact that they refused to hand over their Chakra and even resisted her. Even someone as pure-hearted as she was would grow furious after being rejected again and again.
