After the intense battle just now, both Reverse Cursed Technique and Reverse Cursed Technique: Red had leveled up.
Since Su Mu possessed the Limitless Technique, and his previous enemies had barely been able to hurt him, his Reverse Cursed Technique had been slow to level up.
This time, fighting the Destroyer Armor had forced him to use Reverse Cursed Technique to continuously heal the injuries caused by its energy beams. With some experience already accumulated, Reverse Cursed Technique had finally leveled up, bringing it a big step closer to Lv. 3.
At Lv. 2, Reverse Cursed Technique's healing effect had grown tremendously, and his injuries healed much faster. With its healing speed added to the recovery provided by Energy Absorption, Su Mu's healing was now on par with Wolverine's!
However, he still couldn't use Reverse Cursed Technique on anyone else. He figured he'd be able to once it reached Lv. 3.
Thinking of this, Su Mu decided to practice Reverse Cursed Technique more. After all, when Jane Foster came to deliver the Reality Stone, he'd need it to extract the stone.
He was also very curious about what Reverse Cursed Technique could do at higher levels. In Jujutsu Kaisen, Shoko Ieiri was the most accomplished user of Reverse Cursed Technique, capable of healing others with it.
So what abilities would Reverse Cursed Technique gain if it surpassed Shoko Ieiri's level and reached an even higher realm?
Eternal youth?
Resurrection from the dead?
Restoring matter to its original state?
Or something even more miraculous?
As for Reverse Cursed Technique: Red, its power had increased once again. Su Mu turned his palm upward, and Cursed Energy surged. A black-red singularity the size of a basketball appeared above his palm, hovering steadily.
He tossed the black-red singularity. Amid a violent gale and powerful tremors in the ground, another ravine more than ten meters wide tore through the center of the enormous trench ahead, which was already dozens of meters across.
The power of Reverse Cursed Technique: Red had increased several times over!
Looking at the ravine left by Reverse Cursed Technique: Red, Su Mu smiled with satisfaction.
Besides leveling up two abilities, he'd gained something else as well. The lasers fired by the Destroyer Armor had contained enormous energy, and absorbing it had earned him a large number of energy points.
He put all his energy points into his character profile, raising his fusion rate from 60% to 67%.
If the Destroyer Armor weren't impossible to carry around, difficult to control, and likely to bring Odin down on him, Su Mu would have kept using it to absorb energy.
Even with Energy Absorption at Lv. 4, however, the Arc Reactor still had its uses. Based on his current rate of energy consumption, Su Mu estimated that he'd need five Arc Reactors running together to meet his daily needs.
He really needed to make acquiring an Infinity Gem a priority!
Just as Su Mu was about to head back, a piercing roar suddenly rang out in the distance!
At the sound, the energy within him abruptly stalled, but Six Eyes restored it in an instant!
His face, which had just returned to calm, brightened with delight. The seeds he'd planted earlier had finally sprouted!
A gigantic missile fell from the sky. Su Mu stood perfectly still. It was only a nuclear bomb—nothing special!
Someone had kindly brought him more energy!
The next moment, blinding light erupted like the sun crashing down, and boundless heat and radiance engulfed everything around it!
In the distant town, Thor and the others suddenly saw a mushroom cloud rise on the horizon. A massive shock wave was about to reach them!
At this critical moment, Thor finally regained his powers. He summoned Mjolnir, gathered Jane Foster and the other mortals, and carried them farther away, out of harm's way.
The Warriors Four of Asgard followed close behind. Once they reached safety, they all stared at the scene in the distance.
Even Thor was stunned by the blast of humanity's most powerful weapon.
"Why was Su Mu suddenly attacked with such a powerful weapon?"
Jane Foster explained:
"Su Mu's public identity is the White Devil, and the authorities have a wanted order out for him. I heard a while ago that they'd come up with a plan to deal with him. That nuclear bomb must have been their doing!
"Even Su Mu couldn't have survived a direct hit from a nuclear bomb..."
Thor stepped forward. "I'm going to save him. Even if Su Mu is dead, I'll bring his body back!"
But just as Thor took a step, he stopped. Watching the scorching flames steadily shrink ahead, he murmured, "Oh. Looks like I won't have to."
At a distant military base, numerous generals watched the wasteland through a surveillance satellite, its condition clearly visible to them.
The moment they saw the White Devil take a direct hit from the nuclear bomb, they cheered.
"At the very center of the blast, even the White Devil couldn't have survived!"
"The greatest threat to the world has finally been eliminated. The White Devil will become history!"
"Contact all the media. We'll widely report that the White Devil is dead! Let the world know that the military has killed him!"
While everyone else cheered over the successful elimination of the White Devil, Colonel Stryker kept his eyes fixed on the mushroom cloud on the screen.
He'd dealt with Mutants for a long time, and his own son was one of them. He knew Mutants exceptionally well. A Mutant could have any number of abilities—and when it came to one as powerful as the White Devil, he wouldn't have been surprised if he walked out of the very center of a nuclear blast without a scratch!
Suddenly, the mushroom cloud on the screen changed. The flames and shock wave that had been rapidly expanding outward began to visibly contract. It was as if a black hole were sucking up all the light and heat, leaving none to escape!
The other generals saw it too. The smiles on their faces froze as they stared at the scene in disbelief.
"What happened?"
"The energy from the nuclear explosion is being rapidly absorbed by something at its center!"
"Wasn't his ability suppressed by the Mutant Inhibitor Device? How can he still use it?"
"Oh, God. Is he really human?"
A moment later, all the energy from the nuclear explosion had been completely absorbed. Apart from a vast cloud of smoke and dust, nothing remained in the blast zone. Even the molten ground had cooled.
Then a blurry figure slowly emerged from the center of the explosion. He walked into a clear patch visible to the surveillance satellite, looked up, and raised his middle finger to the sky!
