A car was speeding down the street!
Its owner had just completed a zero-dollar shopping spree!
This kind of behavior might seem ridiculous, but in this so-called free country, it was as normal as a cultural tradition. Such zero-dollar shopping sprees happened every day in this land of liberty!
And unlike many countries where it starts at night, here, the fun begins in broad daylight.
On the other side, something even more absurd was unfolding.
Under the blazing sun, the sounds of "Bang!" "Bang!" rang out, gunfire echoing in everyone's ears.
Several men in black suits and a burly man clad in Rock Armor were weaving through the streets, pinned down by the enemy's fierce firepower.
"Damn it! You can't run with us!"
"Only if you stay behind do we have a chance to escape!"
The man with golden hair and sunglasses on his cheeks shouted angrily at the burly man in Rock Armor.
"Idiot! My mission is to protect you. Tell me, if I stay, who will protect you?"
The burly man didn't take their insults lying down. He frowned and glared viciously at these short-statured pests. If it weren't for his mission to guard these mongrels, he would have long since turned them into meat paste!
"Enough nonsense..."
"Quick, take me over that Iron Fence!"
The man in black suit was getting annoyed. He turned to look at the dead end ahead, where a two-meter-tall Iron Fence blocked their path, and coldly ordered the burly man.
"You don't need to tell me..."
The burly man snorted, grabbing one man in black suit in each hand like they were chicks. His legs pumped rapidly, and with a single leap, he cleared the towering two-meter Iron Fence!
"Oh my god..."
The man in black suit felt himself being carried through the air, the thrill far surpassing any roller coaster at an amusement park. His heart raced wildly, and with the hail of bullets behind them, this was definitely extreme sports—he wondered if Red Bull would be interested in sponsoring it.
Just as the man in black suit and the burly man thought they were safe, a boy wearing a red sweater on top, blue pants on the bottom, and a yellow scarf wrapped around his face—looking as ridiculous as possible—dove down from the sky, heading straight for the burly man in Rock Armor.
"What the hell..."
The burly man stared at the youth hurtling toward him, stunned. He hadn't expected to be this unlucky, running into a Superhero right after escaping!
"Boom!"
With a thunderous roar, dust flew and air currents reversed.
The burly man was sent flying, crashing through the iron gate behind him along with the youth!
"Ugh..."
The burly man scrambled to his feet after hitting the ground, glancing at the two men in black suits who were barely breathing. He knew he'd botched this job.
"I don't know who you are, but you've messed with the wrong person!"
With that, the burly man charged straight at the Masked Youth.
"Pathetic..."
High above, Jupiter quietly watched the scene unfold.
He saw the youth get dazed by a flurry of punches from the burly man. That youth was, of course, Jupiter's foolish younger brother Mark. Having just awakened as a Virtumian, Mark had no fighting skills—raw strength with no idea how to counterattack. The burly man beat him badly, but in the end, Mark relied on his power, using high-speed flight and impact to knock the burly man out and claim victory.
"You messed with the wrong person!"
Mark, still masked, looked at the black strong man he'd taken down, whose Rock Armor had shattered to reveal his dark skin. The anger in his heart had vanished completely, replaced by a surge of accomplishment. He desperately wanted his father and brother to see this—he had to tell them he'd succeeded, that he'd defeated an enemy, that he was a Superhero!
"Mark, are you cosplaying as a Superhero? Your outfit is hilarious."
In the sky, Jupiter crossed his arms and slowly descended, laughing at Mark.
"Hey! Jupiter, did you see that? I just beat a supervillain! I'm a Superhero!"
Mark's eyes lit up at the sight of Jupiter. He'd been regretting that no one was around to appreciate his work, but Jupiter's arrival was perfect. He had to show off his achievement—it would satisfy his ego immensely.
"..."
Jupiter glanced at the overturned car Mark had smashed and the half-destroyed street, then nodded slightly.
"Nice work!"
Jupiter gave a thumbs-up. If Mark's goal was to wreck the street, then he'd done a great job—he'd succeeded, he'd pulled it off!
"No Superhero dresses like a circus Clown..."
"Come with me! You two need your own suits."
Just as the brothers Jupiter and Mark were chatting, a man with a neatly trimmed mustache, looking like the editor-in-chief from a Spider-Man newspaper, slowly descended from the sky. This man was the most powerful being on the planet: Omni-Man. He looked at his two sons and spoke calmly.
"I've been waiting for this..."
Jupiter's heart stirred. He'd long needed a set of durable clothes.
"Clothes..."
Mark was equally eager.
The three of them said nothing more and immediately shot into the sky!
As for the mess left behind, there were naturally people assigned to handle it...
In the suburbs...
Inside a tailor shop, an old man with graying hair was working on the latest superhero costume.
"Boom!"
Only when he heard a roar in his ears did he set down the clothes in his hands.
"Long time no see, Arturo!"
Omni-Man walked into the tailor shop, greeting the owner inside.
"Indeed, it's been a while!"
The shop owner smiled and returned the greeting upon hearing this.
"Greetings!"
Jupiter followed behind Omni-Man, hands clasped behind his back, a warm smile on his face.
"Wow~ My god! This is so cool..."
Unlike the composed Jupiter, Mark was more like a child who had found a toy he loved. He zipped across the entire room, admiring each Battle Suit on display.
"Are these two your children?"
The Tailor Shop Owner looked at Jupiter, then at Mark, and turned to ask Omni-Man, Nolan.
"Yes!"
Nolan nodded, then pointed to Jupiter behind him.
"My eldest son, Jupiter!"
"And my youngest son, Mark!"
Then Nolan glanced at Mark, who was still running around.
"Pleased to meet you both!"
"My name is Arturo Zambo—just call me Arturo!"
"I've known your father for decades. I was his first friend on Earth. I always looked forward to the day Nolan and I would grow old together, but later I learned that the great Omni-Man never ages!"
Arturo introduced himself and his relationship with Nolan to Jupiter and Mark.
"We Viltrumites are built for battle—we don't age for thousands of years~"
Nolan's expression turned somewhat proud at Arturo's introduction. As a noble Virtumian warrior, he could live for millennia without any sign of aging, forever at the peak of his combat prowess.
