When Yang Zhengshan arrived at Star Moon Island, it was already the twenty-eighth day of the twelfth lunar month. The entire voyage had taken a month and a half.
It was nearly noon, precisely the liveliest time at the docks and in the town. The Great Fuchuan had only just pulled up to the pier when Yang Zhengshan heard waves of clamor.
Stepping out of the ship tower, Yang Zhengshan looked at the scene within the docks, and a faint smile immediately appeared on his face.
Outside the docks, by the warehouses, large numbers of bare-chested men were moving cargo. Hundreds and thousands of men were like ants, carrying all kinds of goods out of or into the warehouses.
Round and rectangular warehouses were linked together in rows, covering more than ten mu of land.
On the east side of the warehouses was a market. Many peddlers and stallholders had already set up their stalls there, and all kinds of food were already boiling in pots.
Looking farther north, there was a straight bluestone street thirty feet wide. On both sides of the street stood shops big and small, with all sorts of flags bearing shop names fluttering in the wind.
Behind the rows of shops were courtyards, neat and orderly, joined together into one expanse and forming block after block of uniform size.
When Yang Zhengshan had left Star Moon Island, the blocks over there had only just begun construction. He had not expected them to have already formed such a large expanse by now.
As for the original town, it had now completely joined together with the docks. There was no longer any boundary of a city at all.
