Yu Qingyi was an orphan taken in and raised by the Azure Sky Sword Sect. By eighteen, she had entered the Post-Heaven Realm, mastered the Azure Sky Sword to an exceptional degree, and was known in Liaodong’s jianghu as its foremost young genius, heroine, and beauty 185 217.

Her fiancé was allegedly killed by Black Cliff Stronghold, though the Azure Sky Sword Sect never obtained proof. After the previous sect master died, Yu Qingyi inherited leadership of the sect. Black Cliff Stronghold continued pressuring the Azure Sky Sword Sect, attempting to force her into marriage with Rong Qianjun’s young son 185.

While attempting to assassinate Hou Jun over this conflict, Yu Qingyi was injured and captured by Yang Zhengshan.
